Vehicle Detail

1985 Subaru Brat- 4WD! 1985 Subaru Brat GL - Tinted Windows- 4WD- Including Gem Top Canopy! Including 4 snow tires. Such a versatile little car. Use it as your little 4 WD pickup truck or just your car to get around town in, gets over 30 miles to the gallon! Has jump seats in back equipped with seat belts, if the road gets a bit rough. 224,000 miles on Chassis- 90,000 on reinstalled motor 1800cc "excellent oil pressure" Stays cool and does not overheat - For the newly installed motor, I have the mechanics receipt done by Toms Import Service in North Plains Oregon. Motor runs strong, is quite and sounds very smooth. Does seem to drip a small amount of oil, though I haven't taken off the pan to check where its coming from yet. The oil level stays nice and full, and no smoke out of the tailpipe, so doesn't burn any. One quirk I've discovered is sometimes it starts right up, sometimes it takes a couple cranks to start, its intermittent. Like just today, I started the car at least 5 times, and it started right off the bat about 3 out of 5 times. It always ends up starting in the end without having to get out and physically do anything to it, and usually doesn't take longer than 15- 30 seconds to start it when it does seem to act up. But just so your aware, it doesn't always consistently start right up in the first couple seconds. And if you know anything about cars, then I'm sure its no problem. It might be just about giving it the right amount of gas before starting it, or sometimes giving it too much gas and flooding it, or maybe just an adjustment someplace. I was told it could just be an adjustment someplace having to do with the choke, though I haven't had it checked out yet, it hasn't been a big enough issue because it always ends up starting. This car has been well maintained, I have a folder of maintenance receipts that go back to about 1997 that total a little over $8,000. Comes with original owners manual. Brakes work like they should and brake work was done at one point. Transmission shifts nicely, newer clutch put in. 4WD works great! Has high and low setting. Tires are newer from Les Swab. Steering is great, nice and straight. Has tilt steering wheel. All the glass is in great shape, no cracks. Tinted windows. Doors and locks all function perfectly. Hood shuts fine, nice and straight. All the electrical functions as it should, headlights, bright lights, blinkers, brake lights all work. Has original radio, sounds good. Does not have a/c but does come with the optional feature if you wanted to have it installed. Paint job is a repaint done back in 97. Still looks good and holds its shine, though there are some scratches and chips here and there, mainly towards the back where the canopy comes on and off. Stripes look good, though peeling in some spots. Car is straight and dent free. I noticed a couple tiny dings here and there but you gotta be in the right light to notice them. Floor boards are solid and completely undercoated, only rust I noticed was a small area where its pitting, about the size of a dime, lower driver side by front wheel well, you can see a little spot if you look closely in the pics. T-tops, in excellent shape- Jump seats in the back in great shape, Interior is in nice condition, panels in great shape, headliner in great shape, dash board in great shape. Some sun fading here and there on the dash, mainly on the steering wheel, overall everything has kept its color well. Front seats have slip covers on them, although they are in good shape underneath, not torn up, some fading of the material though from sun and wear. This Car is mechanically sound and road worthy and I wouldn't hesitate to drive it cross country. Comes with clear title, tags good till 2011. Also spare tire and jack included.
