Vehicle Detail
I bought this bike a year ago with about 5,900 miles on it and without having a clue what I would ultimately do with it. After an oil change, a tune-up, a new battery, and a general checkup, I find that – although my mechanic tells me to get on it and go – I’m unwilling to put more miles on it in case someone wants a great running, good looking, low mileage original. The bike has always been in Texas and is all stock as it came from the factory except for the addition of an after-market windscreen, which is easily removed if you wish. It has some minor cosmetic issues shown in the photos, primarily where some of the plastic pin striping, etc., is starting to delaminate and where the original owner applied some black tape to a cracked turn signal. There is no rust anywhere. There is a little staining or discoloration on the engine, which I’m sure is easily buffed off it you’re concerned about it. Again, no scratches, scrapes, etc. The chrome and paint are all very clean; the seat has no cracks, tears, or wear. The speedo even still has the peel-off break-in sticker that tells you not to go too fast for the first 500 miles and the tool kit is still on-board. It does not blow any smoke or leak anything as far as I can tell -- and it's been parked on a rubber mat in my barn for a full year. It is a little cold-natured, but that could very well be because the gas in it is probably getting stale. Choke it for a minute on start-up and then it's good to go. It’s as close to a new 31-year-old bike as I’ve ever seen on the street. There is a very low reserve on this bike. I'll accept PayPal, certified funds or cash in person for payment in full, but I do require at least a $500 non-refundable deposit via PayPal within 24 hours of auction close. Buyer must pick up the bike or make his or her own shipping arrangements. Neither the bike nor the title leave here until the payment has cleared. Feel free to ask if you have any other questions. I’ll do my best to answer. On Aug-15-10 at 05:24:53 PDT, seller added the following information: I have been hearing (repeatedly) from one nut who is extremely concerned over the fact that this bike is not registered in my name. I am, in fact, selling it on an open title signed by the original owner. If this is of concern to anyone, they should not bid. Thanks.
