If you are looking for a really cool hot rod or rat rod without the trouble and expense of doing it yourself take a look at my 1949 Ford F1 pickup. I bought this truck for a project about two and a half years ago and it has a 351 Cleveland 4V engine with a FMX automatic transmission and I had the trans. rebuilt in 2008. The engine starts great and runs cool with the newly built 5 core radiator. (185 degrees on a hot West Texas day.) I have added the following stuff. It has a 3 inch dropped forged front axle, new power disc brakes on front and a 9 inch Ford, Versailles rear end with disc brakes and new power master cylinder and brake lines. That's 4 wheel power disc brakes!! New Optima battery, 4 new shocks, 4 new American Classic Wide White Walls from Coker on 15X5 front and 15X8 rear powder coated wheels. A new spare tire also. It has a new wiring harness and fuse box from EZ wire and new '33 Ford tail lights. The exhaust system is new except for the headers and it has really cool dumps. A new back bumper and I reshapped and pulled the front bumper up to the front end. It has a new MSD electronic distributor and the Holly carb was rebuilt about a year ago. I added a Stewart Warner 160 MPH speedometer and 4 guages (not SW) below the dash. It has a brand new 2 speed windshield wiper motor and a Vintage Air heater multi-speed heater/defroster. Also, there are a few new rubber parts included as pictured. Some of the old stuff added include a Banjo steering wheel that I found in a river bank that I reconditioned enough to work safely. It has a really nice Sony CD, mp3, Ipod cabled, sterio with remote. A freshly rebuilt gas tank, and super rare "Cal Custom" 351 Cleveland valve covers. This truck is what it is..... It's a 1949 truck that rides and steers like 1949 truck. The engine starts and runs great, but it runs better after it has warmed up for a few minutes. The engine has a great sound and a bit of a cam lope and it gets about 9 or 10 miles per gallon. It does burn a little oil, but I have driven it almost every day for about 2 years with virtually no trouble. The body is 96% straight and has a few rust spots and even a couple of bullit holes. The interior is pretty nice for it's age and the glass is only OK. I have a pretty sound parts truck that goes with it if you want it. The truck's left front fender has been repaired and has fresh primer on it. (I don't have a picture of the newly primered fender. I'll get one if you need to see it.) All that said, I have really LOVED this truck. I have 1,800 miles on the truck since I have owned it. It sits perfect with the right kind of rake and it gets a lot of attention. The paint is mostly primer with a little red paint and bondo patches showing through. It has "The Look" of a fun, cool rod. I'm selling this so I can start on a new project.
