Vehicle Detail
Hard times force the sale of my baby. 1982 Porsche 928, 4.5L AT Power everything. Everything but AC works, AC has either a bad compressor or clutch...clutch engages, but no AC. Basically rust free...no rust holes or rust repairs. Mechanically very good. New timing belt and water pump 6.5K ago by PO. Injectors cleaned 18 months ago. New Am/FM/CD/USB stereo. New hawk black series brakes on all 4 corners. New fuel pump. Car runs and drives very nicely. Known problems are: odometer doesn't work and hasn't worked since I bought the car...mileage unknown, but around 115K. Transmission works flawlessly when warmed up, but will not shift when cold. Replacement transmission included, but not installed, bought from 928 worldwide, comes with warrenty from 928 worldwide of 90 days. Its been looked at by 2 transmission shops who said to just drive it as is... (that would be Westminster transmission and Lee Myles), that it is a dirty valve body...supposedly it might clear up on its own. I have put 1500 miles on it like it is, and its no better...no worst. Car is difficult to start when below 40 degrees. New cold start valve is included which, I am told will fix the problem (WUR is OK, injectors are clean, fuel filter is new). Interior could use some attention...it looks good as is, but the leather on the dash has cracked (and is covered with a dash topper), and the leather in the hatch area has split in several places, as well as a tear on the side of the driver's seat. Finally, PO tried to install 6.5" speakers in the doors...poorly. The good news is he didn't cut the metal on the doors. The bad is the door panels look less than perfect because of Abdulla the Butcher's installation job. All very typical for this type and age of car. I have owned several 928's, and this is a sweet running and driving example of the breed. I have tried to be as accurate as possible in describing this car, but it is an old car, driven 2 or 3 times a month. Therefore, I must add, the car is sold as is, where is, how is, when is, and any other is that I have missed. $250 non-refundable deposit due via PayPal within 24 hours of auction's end...or total price if being picked up that quickly. Honestly, I really want this car to go to someone who will finish it up and drive it...like it was built to be driven. Unfortunately, I can't do that...hopefully someone can. No shipping, Paypal or cash only. NO checks. No money orders. No scammers. No exceptions. I hit send to quick responding to that e-mail. I originally bought the car for $1500, not $2500. I hit the wrong key...hunt and pecking the keys and such...On Aug-18-10 at 17:25:50 PDT, seller added the following information: Please READ!!! I took the car on a goodbye drive (just getting home). The Passenger side power window switch has stopped functioning. I was ably to jumt the switch (direct from the battery to the window motor), and put up the window, so the motor is not bad. This is a CHANGE in the cars condition.
