Vehicle Detail
This is a 1998 GMC S15 Jimmy Gypsy 4x4 with the Sierra Classic trim package. She's a creme over black exterior and a buckskin tan interior. She has the 2.8L EFI V6 engine, 4 speed automatic with overdrive, shift-on-the-fly four wheel drive, and the off-road suspension group with the towing package. The little Jimmy is a basically clean, Southern SUV that has never been wrecked or had any body damage and has a clean Arkansas title. She drives very nice and considering that she's 22 years old, now old enough to be considered a classic, her condition is really amazing. I have owned her for several years, we own a ranch and I keep several SUV's, tucks, and 4x4's around that I mainly use as work vehicles or running errands into town and she is one of the latter. She's not spotless but is in nice condition, As you can see in the pictures I didn't even wipe the dust off of the dash or vacuum the carpets but if she were detailed I think she would really clean up nice. There are a few spots on the carpet on the back of the rear seat (which lays down flat) from hauling things from time to time but none of it is anything ground in or that shouldn't come right out with some carpet cleaner. Just routine use around a southern ranch. The body is rust-free and I honestly don't think she's got a ding on her outside of maybe the routine minor parking lot dings and not many of those, especially when you consider her age and that she's never been repainted. Now, if you look at the pictures you will notice that some of her black body panels look glossy and some look duller so allow me to explain that... Last summer a local kid from up the road wanted to make some money and came around offering to wash and wax our vehicles for $25 each, he wasn't doing the traditional hand wax jobs like us old-timers are used to but was using that spray-on, wipe off stuff. I told him he could show me what he could do on this one and, Well, I guess even the spray-on/wipe off stuff took a little more rubbing in than he was prepared for because after about an hour while he had washed her, he had only done random panels on the wax part, one front fender, the opposite side door, I'm not really sure what his pattern was or why he moved around the way he did, he kept taking brakes to drink cokes and seemed like every time he did he'd restart in a different location, finally he said it was taking longer than he thought it would and he had somewhere to go that evening that he had to get ready for so he rinsed it off. Well, when it dried this is what it looked like and the kid never came back. So that's why some of the body panels shine while others look duller. But like I said, she's just a good ole' reliable ranch vehicle that I use to run into town to pickup supplies and whatever so I don't get in our personal vehicles with muddy boots on or whatever so I never went back and did anything to finish the kids incomplete wax job and he never came back. If he'd done a good job I'd have actually given him twice what he originally offered to do the job for but I guess he'll live and learn. So there is nothing wrong with the panels that appear to be duller in the pictures other than he didn't rub the spray-on/wipe off wax on them and the panels that shine he did. If someone wants to take real wax and do an actual hand wax job to her entire body and then some carpet and upholstery cleaner and a little armor-all to her interior I think she'd really surprize you at just how good she's going to look. She does have those stock, plastic GM floor mats in the front floorboards so I haven't been getting in her with muddy boots on and grinding the dirt into the carpets but if you want a nice look I would suggest a good scrub job on the carpets and then toss those cheezy stock GM mats in favor of some nice carpeted aftermarket mats. There is a tear on the bottom of the drivers side seat that you can see in the pictures, other than that and the usual dirt and dust from being used around a ranch I think her interior is in really good condition. She's really, really nice for her age, to me personally the condition she's in for her age and having never had any kind of restoration is just amazing which is why I bought her in the first place back when I did. I actually bought her from one of my aunts back in 2005 after my uncle passed away and she just did not need it sitting in the garage, it had always been his vehicle, and though I'm not 100% sure I think he was the original owner. Seems like I remember him telling me that he bought it the same year he retired, and as far back as I can remember he was either in it heading into town or off to some fishing spot, or it was always parked it in their garage, which probably helps explain the condition. He had this small aluminum flat-bottom fishing boat and up until he passed I think it spent it's life taking him from one boat ramp to another or down to his fishing cabin on Greers Ferry Lake in Heber Springs and the twice-annual trip out to Californa, up to Colorado, or down to Georgia to visit their kids and grandkids, all because he didn't feel my aunts Japanese vehicle was good enough to take on a cross-country road trip (then of course he was a WWII vet). My wife is now ill and I'm having to sell many of our vehicles and farm/ranch equipment that we spent a lifetime aquiring, so that's why she's for sale. She drives really nice and I put new All-Terrain tires on her a couple of years ago and doubt I've put more than 10k miles on her since, I also put new brake pads on her a couple of years ago and if I remember right new shocks but it's been awhile and I'm not certain about the shocks, we have several vehicles around our ranch and I sometimes forget what I have done to which vehicle. She's really solid and has no mechanical issues and no rust. I feel she's just a nice solid, very reliable, and fairly economical SUV that's nice to drive. What you see is what you get, I took the photos just yesterday and have posted them without any kind of editing. I attempted to make sure any known flaws such as the tear on the bottom of the drivers seat was visible in the photos. If anyone lives close enough and wants to come drive her before the end of the auction or if you have any questions please feel free to contact me. We have a ranch so have space so picking it up immediatally is not a rush as long as the winning bidder keeps in touch, but we would like it picked up within 7 days if possible. If it's going to be more than three days before you can pick her up we'd like a $500 deposit so we know your serious and not one of those fake spoof bidders that are on eBay. She's a used car so we're of course selling her as is without any warrantee or guarantees, written, expressed, or implied. If you want to have her inspected at your own expense before you bid then please contact me and we can get together on a date and time. If the winning bidder is from out of state and wants to fly into the Little Rock National airport I can meet you for $50 extra so I can pay someone from our church to follow me to the airport and then drive me back home afterward because it's about a 240 mile round trip and my wife can no longer drive. If you want to have a shipping company pick it up for you I will of course work with you to meet them at a truck stop on the highway or whatever is needed. If you actually live within the same region of the country as us I may can even deliver it myself or meet you half way.
