Vehicle Detail

About the car's history: I am selling this car because I need a truck for my job. To say this has been a difficult decision doesn't even come close to describing it. I purchased this RX8 last fall after wanting to own one since they came out. Our family is a Mazda family, having owned a 929, Miata, Mx3 and Mazda 5. This has to be the best of the bunch. I am the second owner, the first owner was in Evansville IN. He had ordered the car in 2003, making it one of the first RX8's in the city. He is an engineer at  Toyota and he researched his purchase thoroughly. He kept a collection of articles,  information, and hand written notes which is all contained in a binder that will go with the car. This car was his passion. He meticulously maintained it and kept ALL records. The amount of data is staggering. There is a second binder that contains all of the receipts and service records. He changed the oil every 2000 miles (yes 2000!!!) and that was just the start. He was (and is still) very well known at the dealership for being exacting about maintenance. Having talked to the dealership myself, they said he knew more about the car when it was new, than most of their technicians. For me to properly explain, you should call me prior to bidding. I will be glad to fill you in on the details of the history of the car. YOU WILL WANT TO KNOW the background. It is an amazing story, and it makes selling this car even more painful. The short version is you will not find a more lovingly cared for car anywhere. There are dozens of pages where the previous owner had the car in the dealership for everything from inspection of squeaky rear view mirrors,to AC compressor replacement, oil pan replacement etc... Even though this car has what some would consider to be "high miles" I firmly believe it is several multiples BETTER than any RX8 that ever left the Mazda assembly line. Any flaws, or mechanical issues have been  improved and eliminated. Please, if you are serious about buying this car, call me and let me fully explain... 812.573.6087. About the car itself:   2004 Mazda RX8 - Loaded   Leather   Cold AC   6 Disc Changer   Moon Roof   EVERYTHING works perfectly - there are absolutely no issues with this car.   One significant service issue is the engine was replaced at 59,894 miles under warranty at the dealership in 2006. All records are included. Flaws: Touch Ups in the paint on the hood and nose - While this car has been amazingly maintained, it still has seen it's fair share of road. So there is inevitably some "chips" in the paint on the hood, and nose. The previous owner has touched them up. I've tried to show these in the photos, but it is difficult. They are hard to see, but I don't want the winning bidder to be surprised. Scratch on the rear wheel surround - There is a scratch in the plastic portion of the rear bumper behind the passenger side wheel well. It isn't huge, but it is through the paint and into the panel so it can't be "buffed out". Flaw in the passenger seat - There is a small "puncture" in the seat on the passager side. I haven't fixed this yet, because I don't want to make it look worse. Scratch in the center consol in the back seat - This isn't really noticeable, but I don't want to be any surprises. It is on the cup holder lid. Tires -   The tires are not very old, and they have heaps of tread left. However, they are noisy and rough riding. I am certain they will last for a good number of miles before the "NEED" to be replaced. However... in the interest of full disclosure, you have to expect to not like the tires that are on the car. Extras: The previous owner also collected a significant amount of parts for the car. Included in this auction:   Extra Factory Muffler   3 Mazda Oil Filters   Mazda intake cleaner kit   Set of spark plugs (new) with a receipt for $125   Set of Mazda plug wires   Set of belts   Set of new u-joints (the ones on the car are perfectly fine)   Cargo net   VERY nice car cover that was used inside the garage only!   2 sets of floor mats - one carpet, and one "all weather rubber mats" - both in great condition   Spare tire kit   Rubber trunk insert (covering a perfect carpet under it)   Original owners manual   Original widow sticker, order information, and ALL service records (amazing amount of info)   Collection of research used to purchase the car   Full set of official Mazda service manuals   One extra driving light How to bid: I've bought and sold several vehicles on ebay / internet. I know how this works, I hope you do too. I have made every attempt to make sure there are no surprises when you arrive to pick up the car. I feel that is my responsibility as a seller. As a buyer, I feel like your responsibility is to take your bid seriously, and follow through with your commitment to purchase the car. Please, don't waste my time, and the time of other bidders if you are not able to follow through when the auction is complete. I would like to finish the transaction in a reasonable time frame. I will be willing to work with you on a time to pick up the car, but please try to make it within 7 days of the end of the auction. That is about it... please contact me if you have questions, but email or phone: email@esscott.com or 812.573.6087 - if you're serious about the car, you should call me and let me fill you in on the details of this amazing car! YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!!!                                                                                                                                                                                           On Aug-12-10 at 08:37:15 PDT, seller added the following information:The oil pan comment in the description is getting some people's attention... I have had a few people mention it... I didn't mean to freak anyone. The point was, the previous owner had this car at the dealership ALL the time for EVERY conceivable bit of maintenance imaginable. He had the oil pan changes because he thought it MIGHT start leaking... as a preventitive measure. I don't think there is a nut or bolt on this car that has not been looked at and adjusted to perfection by a certified Mazda mechanic. I have a 3" thick binder FULL of these type preventative maintenance items completed at the dealership over the 6 years he owned it. That is why I say, you will not find a better RX8 anywhere! This car operates perfectly... It has never missed a beat in the 14000 miles I have put on it. I hasn't stuttered, hiccuped, misfired, or anything along those lines. It starts up immediately - regardless of weather (below 0º or over 100º). It drives fantastic. You will not be disappointed in this car! Call me and I'll tell you more if you like: 812.573.6087On Aug-16-10 at 09:37:15 PDT, seller added the following information:Some more info on the engine replacement... it was a warranty issue, and I was told that the engine actually checked OK, but due to the relationship between the dealer and the previous owner, they swapped it anyway... On Aug-17-10 at 17:01:07 PDT, seller added the following information:I thought I should also post these... they are just a couple of the hundreds of pages worth of data on this car...
