SHORT REVIEW Improvements over the years this car is fun ready, not show ready. Newer seats Reupholsters seats New carpet Weber Carburetor (2 mts ago) New Tires (3mts ago) New Paint Rear seat New alternator New gas tank New cap, rotor, wires, plugs. And many more…. DETAILED REVIEW I’m re-listing my 69 MGB GT, and lowering the reserve price. I bought this MG in 2004 and when I bought this car it had little to no carpet, no back seat, two drivers triumph seats, rusted floor boards, and only door panels. As you can see I replaced the seats with a 79 mg seat and reupholster the seats with custom made seat covers. I re-carpeted the whole car, bought used rear panels from another 69 MGB GT. Put on A-post liners and rear top rails because there were none when I bought the car. I fixed the floor board rust by making new floor boards out of thick sheet of galvanized sheet metal. In 69 there was not a glove box due to US regulation at that time so I made the two compartments for the 6 volt batteries into storage places. The previous owner put the battery in the front engine compartment which is my next task is to put the battery back in the correct place, but keep one of the storage places I made. Some of the improvements I’ve made to the engine is new alternator, changed the old type of oil filter to a 72’ spin on filter, new points, and new cap and rotor. Spark plugs have been changed a few times and gaped correctly, and wires replaced. Some other changes would be replacing fuel lines in the engine and adding the clear in line filter. About two months ago I took off the unreliable SU carbs and replaced them with a brand new Webber carburetor. I’ve also replaced the battery within the last 6 months. Surprisingly there are no oil leaks with the MG. The car is little louder then most MG’s because I had the muffler replaced with a glass-pack muffler, and the pervious owner had already taking out the front muffler. I replace the fuel tank and sending unit about a year ago, due to rust in the inside of the fuel tank. All the gauges work, blinkers, lights, the only thing this is not working at this time is the horn. The body is solid but does have some small blemishes, paint is about a month old. The car runs really good and cruises great on the roads and highways, a real joy to drive! Oklahoma is so hot that I’m wanting to buy a MG roadster that is here locally but have to sell one before I can get another. Replace all four tires about two months ago. This MG does not have overdrive. Any other questions feel free to ask.
