Vehicle Detail
I am selling my 1970 Oldsmobile cutlass "S". I bought this vehicle in 1999 from a neighbor in Michigan whose husband purchased the vehicle new in 1970. This vehicle has 29,000 original miles. I had the vehicle painted in 2001 back to the original color of Sherwood green. At this time the owner of the body shop asked my father if we were interested in selling the car because the car had the original coat of paint and nobody filler in it. At this time there were two small rust spots on the bottom of the front fender near the ground. These spots were caused by leaves falling in the fender area from the cowl and sitting for some time. The two small spots were professionally taken care of. This car sat in my father's garage (climate controlled) until March of 2009, and transported to Florida where I now live. Due to the car sitting for such a long time it developed a oil pan gasket leak. I decided to pull the motor to fix the leak, needless to say my oil leak ended up costing me almost $10,000 dollars. The motor was completely rebuilt and painted back to the gold rocket color. The motor was built with flat top forged pistons, mild cam, aluminum edelbrock heads, Msd ignition, intake, carb, headers. The original Th-350 is completely rebuilt with a 2500 stall converter. I replaced the 2.23 rear with a 12-bolt 3.73 Posi. Every suspension bushing has been replaced with new polyurethane bushings. The brake system has been upgraded with a front disc conversion kit. Due to the big rotors placed on the car I was forced to replace the stock colored keyed wheels with chrome 17" American racing wheels. I put a full 2/12 inch flowmaster exhaust system with an H-pipe. I still have the original wheels, carb, heads and rear end in my garage. This vehicle is a one of a kind. The pictures I have taken give this car no justice. I took 140 pictures of this car and you can e-mail me if you would like a specific picture. I am selling this car because the work i recently put into it placed a financial burden on my family. I have all receipts from, summit racing, jegs, and the transmission shop that did the work. The transmission is under warranty for 12 months or 12,000 miles. The vehicle runs great and sounds even better! Based on the set up of this motor, The builder estmates the motor is in the area of 425 horsepower. The upgraded motor is like night and day compared to the stock componets.
