1959 FORD THUNDERBIRDYou are looking at a Beautiful 1959 Ford Thunderbird. This is a very solid and original car with only 88,000 original miles. It maintains the original 352 Thunderbird Special motor with an impressive 300hp, and the original 3 speed automatic "Cruise-O-Matic" transmission.This Thunderbird is a very smooth driver and is a true joy to drive. The exterior is very nice and has only been repainted once. The color is "Surf Blue Poly", and is an original color to thespring of '59 Thunderbirds. It is an older paint job but with looks very nice, and with a little polishing could look even better,the paint is not perfect though and does have some defects.The windows do not have any cracks. The windshield does have to minor scratches that could polished out. The body is very straight and solid without any exterior rust issues. There is some minor rust underneath the car, but is not very substantial at all and could easily be repaired and hardly visible in the pictures All of the exterior trim is complete and in straight decent condition. The bumpers are very nice without any rust or pitting and are very straight.The lights all work and the self canceling blinkers are a nice luxury of the year. The interior is in excellent original condition and is a fairly uncommon color combination. No tears in the seat upholstery and they are very pliable with and plush.The carpet is very nice without any serious fading or discoloration. The original headliner is in beautiful condition without a sag or tear throughout.The original radio is still intact and turns on, although it does not pick up very many stations. Could probably use some new tubes. The dash is sagging a bit, but it does have a cover. All of the gauges work except for the clock, it may just need to be wound, I have not tried.The original trunk liner is in awesome shape, as seen in the pictures. This car actually is uncommon in the fact that it did not come with a lot of the options standard to a Thunderbird. It does not havepower windows, power seats, and it even originally did not have a heater or AC. It originally had a delete plate in place of the heater controls. That was lostso I replaced it with a MagicAire control unit. It would need several things to complete the conversion. Overall this is a great car for being over half a century old. It does have its quirks and imperfections, but it is a great car to cruise in, and is a blast to drive!
