Wheelchair Accessible Nissan Titan Truck for Sale 2005 4x2 Titan SE King Cab Braun UVL Lift, Hand Controls, Automatic Doors Under 7,000 miles, Original Owner Color: Red Brawn VIN: 1N6BA06AX5N573534 Lightly driven, heavily modified Nissan Titan for sale by original owner with clear title. This wheelchair accessible truck was purchased and modified in 2005 and includes almost $40,000 in modifications. Great opportunity to own an almost-new and already modified vehicle that is a lot of fun to drive. This truck is really neat and people stop me in parking lots and ask about it all the time – sometimes even at stoplights! Kids think the truck is a Transformer since the doors operate by remote control. It’s boosted several inches to accommodate the lift, and the extra body add-ons make this truck look really sharp. It really is much more exciting than driving a van. It’s a very easy-to-drive truck. My disability is muscular dystrophy and the steering wheel is extremely easy to turn. It does take a few times of driving to get used to since it is so much easier than a regular steering wheel. Even when parked, you can spin the wheels with minimal effort. Brakes are very easy to apply. The remote door operators work great, but you have to be right next to the truck for the remote signal to work. The truck is driveable from your wheelchair but also has a removable driver’s seat that can be easily taken in-out by one person when necessary. It locks in/out with hooks in the floor and plugs in so that the power seat controls can be used. The EZ-Lock system was never installed because my wheelchair at the time of purchase had nowhere to weld the locking pin. But now it can be put wherever you want. Late Summer 2009: All Nissan recall items were repaired, a heavy-duty deep cycle battery and battery saver switch was installed to prevent battery drain from all the extra modifications. Braun UVL circuit board was replaced with a brand new board. The truck requires approximately 6’10” overhead clearance and has an interior height of about 55” (the ceiling is slightly sloped so the height varies +/- .5 inches) when the driver’s seat is removed. My 27” wide wheelchair fits in the driver’s side with no problem. But I will not sell this truck without telling you of the minor cosmetic and add-on issues which really are minor. Handful of small, minor body nicks and some scrapes on roof from low overhead objects. Not noticeable unless you look for them and in fact, I almost forgot they were there until one of my AB friends was washing the truck and reminded me. The most noticeable body ding is a ¼” ding in the driver’s side door that occurred when the driver’s side door actuators were temporarily removed for shipping and the door was allowed to open too far. Touch-up kit is included as well. The inside of the front door has a small place where it rubbed against my wheelchair and the gray peeled back in about a 1 square inch area. To accommodate hand controls the foot-pedal adjusters have been disabled. Also, the door actuators work fine, but if they are pulled on when in-motion, this can damage the mechanism. I have replaced the front actuator because of this lesson and have included an additional actuator that I bought just in case. I have had to use the internal wired lift controller on a handful of occasions when parked in places that have electromagnetic fields around like a power station or lots of electrical wires – the wireless remotes were stubborn since the receiver could only be reasonably placed under the back seat! Again, only a couple times. Lastly, when you’re driving from the wheelchair, the driver’s seat is not plugged-in so the Airbag light will flash at you on the control panel. To combat this I put a small piece of black electrical tape on the plastic panel between my eyes and the light. You might have to put your own there depending on how tall you are. Also, I split my time between Hawaii and Wisconsin so when the vehicle would come out of storage, I wanted to avoid battery drain, so a deep-cycle Optima battery was recently installed with a battery saver switch. This can be used when not driving it to insure the battery will remain fully charged. Seller makes no warranty for the truck itself or modifications therein.
