Here we have Porsche 356B Chassis #214396. This is one of the last B-models to roll off the line at the Karmann factory. It's safe to say that Hans and Franz were waving auf wiedersehen to the drum brake cars as this Oslo Blue over red coupe was rolling by. The last 356B assembled at the Karmann plant was #214400, just four units away from this car. This is your chance to bring this piece of history back to its former glory. We found this coupe in Georgia where it had been off the road since the early 1970s. With only 10 years of use, all of the metal on the car appears to be original. This means that should the new owner so desire, he could end up with a very original example. It will need some rust repair, but with some good patch work you could retain many of the factory seams and spot welds underneath. There are some holes in the floor and battery box as evidenced in the photos. There is also a small crack in the windshield on the passenger's side. The included 1961 Super engine is in the car and turns over easily by hand. Red interior is included and ready for your restoration. Oslo blue with red interior is a stunning color combination -- this will be a very special car when the restoration is complete! Please see the photos where I have shown some sections of the original paint that dodged the later red spraygun. This is a southern car with good bones, and is an excellent platform for restoration.
