Vehicle Detail
1973 Cadillac Eldorado A clean and original 1973 Cadillac Eldorado with 109,657 miles. I purchased this Eldorado 3 years ago. I believe that I am the 3rd owner of the car. It was last titled in 1976 in Buffalo, New York. To my knowledge, the car has always been garage kept. I have stored the car in a garage, and it has been driven several times a week during my ownership. The Eldorado has a current Virginia inspection good until 3/2011. I do not think that this Eldorado has been driven in the winter due to the minimal rust throughout the car. The Kelly Springfield whitewall tires have a lot of tread left on them. The A/C has not been operable since I purchased this car, and I have not had it charged up. The cruise control is not operable as well. The car rides and handles great. It has a 500 V8 motor and it is front wheel drive. I had a dual exhaust installed when I purchased the car, the mufflers have a mild rumble to them. The power windows and door locks and power seats function as they should. The power antenna works. The factory 8-track player works, but sometimes the tapes sound sloppy. I have not cleaned the player. Only one speaker appears to work, which is the drivers side front dash speaker. The interior is very clean. The original vinyl door panels have no rips whatsoever. The drivers seat has minimal wear on the backrest portion of the seat. There is a 2" long crack on the dash just above the clock on the passenger side. The clock does not keep good time. I believe that the paint on the hood and the trunk is original paint. The drivers side has had the paint touched up around the door. I know this because of the sloppy paint overspray visible when you open the drivers side door. Unfortunately, I damaged the blue GM data sticker on the inside of the drivers door, attempting the remove the overspray from the door. There is a small amount of surface rust showing on the drivers side at the base of the vinyl top. There is some bubbling around the driver side rear passenger window. The car runs very well. It has the original Rochester Quadrajet carburator and air cleaner. The transmission shifts smooth and consistent. The transmission has a very small leak. The transmission fluid is checked once a month and fluid is topped off about once every 3 months. The only other thing about this car I can think to mention is that the fiberglass front and rear bumper fillers are broken in some spots, which I have tried to highlight in the photos. The complete fiberglass bumper filler set, as well as many other parts for this car can be purchased from U.S.A. Parts Supply Ltd. www. usapartssupply.com All in all the Eldorado is a fine running and looking machine and it shows after 37 years. To bid on this car, you need to have at least 5 positive Ebay feedback. A non-refundable $200 deposit is required within 24 hrs of auction end, with the balance paid by certified bank check due within 7 days of auction end. Local pickup is preferred.
