This auction is for a beautifully restored red 1976 Honda CB750A 'Hondamatic' motorcycle. I won this bike at a charity event benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation last November. The bike has been ridden only a few times since and is stored in my garage. As much as I love this bike, it's a little too large and heavy for me to manage. I have the (Arizona) title for this vehicle. One of HONDA'S most radical departures from the typical motorcycle design, the Hondamatic was produced from 1976-78. It features a Honda 750 single overhead cam engine. There is no clutch lever. Though it's described as an automatic, this is not strictly true. There are two gears, Low and Drive. The transmission is manually placed in gear using the gearshift lever on the left side of the engine. If Low is selected, the transmission must be changed to Drive when the required RPMs are reached using the gearshift lever. Low gear produces speeds up to 60 mph and Drive gives a top speed in excess of 100 mph. The bike is equipped with a parking brake operated by a small button at the left-hand side of the seat, to enable the rider to park the bike on its kickstand on an incline. This is a fast, smooth machine, with a comfortable riding position that makes it an excellent touring unit. If you live in Arizona, we can arrange for local pickup / delivery.
