Vehicle Detail
1971 Pontiac Le Mans 2 door, 67,142 original miles. This car was truly owned by a "little old lady" most of its life. I have the original window sticker, bill of sale, owners manual, and a stack of service records from 1971 until about 5 years ago. It has a strong running 350 2bbl that does NOT make noise, smoke, or leak. The turbo 350 transmission shifts great and does not leak. The car sat for over a year without moving from my garage and there were no puddles on the floor. I recently installed a new starter and transmission line. The car drives good but the tires are dry rotted. The car is extremely solid, but needs a cosmetic restoration. The floors and frame are rot free. The doors, decklid, and hood are rust free. The left front fender and rear quarter appear to have had small repairs at their bottoms at some time. The left rear quarter has also has a repair above the bumper. The right side has some damage (which was her reason to stop driving and sell the car). The fender and lower valence panel have damage but I have used replacements. The rear quarter was also dented but could be repaired. The trunk floor is rust free. The chrome looks good for original, not perfect but nice. The interior is okay but shows wear and the dash has a crack on the passenger side that looks as if something hit it and was not a crack from age or heat. The vinyl top has no tears but has minor bubbling in one spot below the rear window. All of the glass is nice. The blinkers and radio do not work but I have not looked into the problem. I am trying to give an honest description and hope that I am not painting bad picture of the car. I have restored cars for over 20 years and this is a good one, I just have too many projects and need to start selling some of them. Also included with the car besides the used fender and valence panel are NEW wheel opening moldings, trunk mat, trunk divider board, rear interior package tray, and Hooker headers. The reserve is less than I have in the car. You are bidding to buy, not to look so please do not bid unless you are serious. All funds must clear before the car leaves my possession. Good luck.
