Hello, you are bidding on a 1961 Chevy Corvair Monza! This was my first car in High School, and I can assure you that it has been well maintained under my care, receiving regular maintainance and oil changes (this car was my baby -- I even named my ebay username after it years ago!). Unfortunately, now as a poor college student, the car needs some more work put into that I do not have the time or money to provide. Hopefully you can be the one to give this classic the love it deserves! Currently, the car is not in running condition. The engine turns over and will occasionally start, however, I would not recommend driving it far. The engine idles a little off rythm and has a distinct "clicking" sound. While I do not know for sure, my general assessment is that one of the push-rods is broken and needs replaced. The car received a complete engine rebuild by a prior owner about 8 years ago, but it is possible that it may need another. The exterior of this beautiful 4-door sedan is in excellent condition. No rust and few very minor dents and scratches. The paint is a beautiful cherry red, and its only flaw is a light layer of oxidation that could be easily removed by a nice buffing and a new clear coat. The wheels and hub caps are in great conditon as well, and the car is equipped with white wall tires. The interior consists of a black dash and black carpeting with white leather seats. The seats are in particularly excellent condition and make for an almost show-ready interior. The only interior issues are minor cracking of the dashboard from sun exposure and slight peeling of the driver side door panel (see pictures). The car is equipped with a duel carborator, air-cooled 6 cylinder engine. The automatic transmission is in perfect working order, as are the newly replaced 4-wheel drum brakes. The car has its original radio (not working currently) and working blower providing heat and windshield defrosting. All in all, the car is in outstanding condition -- with only minor work to the interior and exterior, this car could be show ready. As it is, this car already turned heads on the road and drew a crowd in a parking lot! The only major consideration is again the repair of the engine in order to restore this car to working condition.
