Vehicle Detail

1976 Porsche 911S (VIN# 9116200730) You are bidding on a 1976 Porsche 911S equipped with 5 spd manual transmission and 2.7L boxer engine that was fully rebuilt with all needed upgrades by the previous owner ( I have the receipts available from the previous owner). It is a basic no frills 911S. The car has been repainted - originally gold - and needs to be repainted. Previous owner had touched up the paint more for protection than looks. Body is straight and solid with no rust. The body is fully galvanized so that is a big plus. The interior is OK but the seats need reupholstered. Pictures are with seat covers. Chassis has about 243K+ miles on it. The odometer stopped working last year when I reset the trip odometer. The car has a 1977 engine which was rebuilt at 195K by Franz Blam Racing Ltd. All the needed upgrades were included to fix the 2.7L problems - case timeserts, dilivar studs, carerra tensioners, 11 blade cooling fan, pop-off valve, etc. New clutch, muffler, oil lines and intake gaskets/hoses at 214K. Rear wheel bearings at 224K. A/C was removed to lighten up the car and improve performance by a previous owner - but I have the parts. I purchased the car in Feb 2003 while living in Texas and drove it often. Since relocating to Ohio in 2004, it has not been driven more than 1000 miles. I've started it and run it periodically just to keep exercising it a bit - but it has been a garage sitter for quite some time. I installed new tires in 2005 (Goodyear TripleTreds). The car has been garaged 100% of the time since I've owned it and I have kept fresh gas in it plus did all oil changes needed based on time not miles. The car is fun to drive but is almost 35 years old - so it does have 1976 level technology with those expectations. It's not a show car by any description but if you're looking for an affordable, decent example of a classic that you can have fun with - this is a great choice. I've enjoyed the car while I've had it and hope you will too - so happy bidding.
