Vehicle Detail

1972 Plymouth Roadrunner GTX with 440 4 Speed Numbers Matching. This is a real GTX not a clone as you can see by the VIN number RM23U2G181820. This is a very special car as it is one of 219 produced with the 440 engine 4sp and track-pak option. This car only has 23k original miles and is documented by previous owners. The car also has NO rust and still retains a lot of its original equipment including the engine, transmission rear-end, radiator, carpet, headliner, seats and covers, shifter, etc… The vin is stamped in all the correct places including the radiator support. The car is in need of a restoration to be perfect but can be driven as is - it runs and drives great and turns heads everywhere! The engine has plenty of power, is smooth and the transmission shifts as it should. This car is the perfect candidate to restore because it’s such a rare, desirable MOPAR. Plus it also has a lot of the original equipment that sets this car apart from others such as the headliner and carpet which are in great shape. It wouldn’t take much to make this car a completely original show winner that would be worth a lot when completed. Here are the option codes listed on the build sheet: Decode 1972 Plymouth Roadrunner GTX RM23U2G181820 Line 2 E86 440 1-4BBL 290HP D21 4 Speed Manual Transmission A833 D56 3.54, 9.75 DANA 60 AXLE D84 9.75 DIA. He had the car painted in 1972 and a number of items chromed. The drive shaft is still chrome! He would trailer the car to shows and position it on jacks with mirrors and lights underneath to show the detailed underbody. Because the car was trailered for years, the mileage is very low. The original owner sold the car in 1997 with only 17k miles on it. The car runs great. When I got the car someone installed headers, changed the wheels and installed shakel extensions. I installed TTI headers and exhaust which cost $1,200! I also have a new set of correct shakels to include with the auction. The Good: · Rare numbers matching 440/4Sp Roadrunner GTX with DANA Rear-end · One of 219 produced · Lots of documentation including the build sheet and copy of the original window sticker · Original carpet, headliner Rallye dash, Seats ( not sure but the front seats could have been recovered) and door panels – all in great condition! · No rust and all original body parts – VERY solid and nice · Low miles, only 23k · New TTI headers and TTI exhaust The Bad · Painted in 1972 – will need a complete paint job back to the correct B5 Blue · Rear window and side rear quarter windows etched (this was done by original owner when car was used as a show car) · Stock exhaust manifolds long gone · Original rims long gone · Shakel extension installed (new correct shakels included with the auction) · Some items chromed such as driveshaft, rear shocks and fan. I’m selling the car because my interests have changed. I owned many MOPARS over the years and this one is one of the best. I will be posting better pictures latter this week . Please call me if you have any questions- lots of history and information is available about the car. Thanks, Mark 781-844-0889.
