You read it right. This Mazda is the best 2003 Miata LS in existence. Hyperbole you say? Have a look at the facts and then decide. Why This Mazda is the Best 2003 Miata LS On the Planet - Hyperbole Justification Edition 56,694 Documented Original Miles As the spotless Carfax confirms, (among many other things) this Pure White pocket-rocket has traveled barely eight thousand miles a year since new. That's 22 miles a day folks and I'm here to tell you that anywhere you look on this unbelievable creampuff has the appearance of a car with half this many miles. It's not new of course, but the rare new-car look, feel and function is still with this Miata as if it were 2003. Our lengthy 150 billion point inspection revealed new oil, topped off fluids and a clean, dry engine and undercarriage. This car was purchased new here in Las Vegas and has been loved and exquisitely maintained by that person until now. Options, Options, Options!! If you're looking for a Miata, do you want the 5-speed, cloth, bottom feeder with base suspension, small wheels and (whoopee!) standard radio? Or . . . a top-of-the-line 6-speed LS with 16-inch alloy wheels, sport suspension, leather and a license-plate loosening Bose sound system with a 6-disc in-dash CD changer? But wait, there's more! How about a Tochigi-Fuji torque sensing limited slip differential or a Nardi leather wrapped steering wheel? And, if that's not enough; how about the Appearance Package One and Two and the Convenience Package too. Still not enough? Then you'll also like the chrome fuel filler, mud guards and (drum roll please) factory head and tail light bezels. From its door mounted tweeters to its auto-dimming rear view mirror with compass and outside temperature, you're not ever going to find another 2003 Miata with an equipment list this tall and mileage this short. Exterior Did you know there were just 523 Miatas in 2003 painted Pure White? Certainly none of those remaining look as good as this spectacular car with its beautiful, original finish over a straight body that has never been hit, never been fixed. There's not much to talk about; it's just a damage free Miata that looks much as it did when new. Everything works and nothing is broke. In this case, having nothing to say is a good thing, right? Interior Parchment leather upholstery immediately says, "I'm not a normal Miata." How a car purchased locally seven year ago can have an interior that looks 7 days old is beyond me, but it's true. Like the outside, everything works, nothing is broken and all the options and power equipment you could ever hope for is here including the aforementioned thundering Bose stereo, power windows, locks, cruise, air conditioning and on and on and on. Not to mention the dual airbags, seatbelt pretensioners and nifty carpeted Miata floor mats. Okay, so I did mention those. Did I mention this interior looks like new? Oh. I guess I did. Under Hood By 2003 the 1.8 liter DOHC in-line 4 benefitted from variable intake valve timing which gave this powerful engine more flexibility throughout the RPM range. Speaking of power, consider this: a 142 horsepower engine that races fiercely to red-line in a car this light means real performance. Our 150 billion point inspection indicates a fully serviced, well maintained engine that starts, runs and performs as well as its clean, dry and new appearance suggests. You could eat a germ free meal from any surface under here. It's that clean. Undercarriage If you turned the car upside down you could eat from the undercarriage too. While enjoying your meal you would also see the driest most spectacular new-car chassis you've ever dined with. This is factory spectacular as in; it is just as it left the assembly plant in Hiroshima. In fact, it probably was not this clean the day it was built. Even if it was, you can rest assured that your low mileage, one-owner Miata looks like a one-owner, low mileage Miata everywhere. Driving/Performance Twist the key to bring your fuel injected convertible to life then flip, flip, lift and toss to put the top where it belongs on a warm night. (there's a slick looking boot if you want to go to the trouble) Snick the short throw shifter (Nardi, leather wrapped by the way) into first and stab the throttle. The zingy engine lunges the go-kart light Miata forward with enthusiasm. You're in an LS remember so, unlike regular Miatas, this buttery smooth transmission has six closely spaced gears which keeps the engine in the sweet spot at any speed. The power rack and pinion steering has variable assist that decreases at road speeds for greater feel and increases while parking for greater ease. Power four wheel disc brakes haul this nimble roadster down with confidence and the wind-blocker keeps your lovely wife's bouffant large and unruffled. It quite simply, drives and functions like a new car. Everything works too including an air conditioner that can blow a 25 degree gale under a dash that scanned a toasty 144° the day I took the pictures. So; is this Mazda the best 2003 Miata LS on the planet? After viewing all 141 high-resolution pictures, any ordinary person can see this extraordinary car is the best 2003 Miata money can buy. Known Issues & Are these Really Issues? One inch flake/peel thing on passenger side, lower/forward console trim. Shifter ball worn a little shiny. A couple of paint chips & tiny dings (you have to look hard to find them). Minor wheel scraps. Wiper arm bolt cap missing. Driver's floor mat 75% there 25% to the left missing??? Not in your garage. (these are factory items not aftermarket and they make your Miata unique) This smile is a Miata trademark and on this car, includes projector headlamps and driving lights. (one of the true gifts of this Miata is its handling prowess - in the twisties, it will shellac many "sports" cars costing thousands more) Behind that pleasant expression lies a serious, high performance sports car that will paste a similar grin on your face. (fit and finish on this perfectly maintained beauty is still new car straight, new car smooth) Wow, what a shape and WOW, what a low mileage, one owner Miata in near showroom condition. (projector lights look really racy with the headlamp bezels) Never been hit, all original, local car bought new right here at Courtesy Imports (the cleanest one owner 2-seater you'll ever find) This car has the optional 16-inch alloy wheels, side sill extensions and mud guards. (is there another roadster on the market today that can equal the fun car value of a Miata?) These tail light bezels match the headlamps and really perk up this Miata's rump. (smooth metal and beautiful trim) No car says "drive me hard on a narrow, twisty road" quite like a Miata. (and, no 2003 Miata looks and functions as well as this low mileage creampuff) Top down and looking good . . . . . . top up, you're both dry and you have a glass rear window with a defroster. "Pure White" finish looks superb on metal this smooth and curvy. Put the top back down . . . . . . that's better. Makes you want to get in and find a curvy canyon. (another reminder: this is an LS with a 6-speed and the LSD differential) Dark tint and a great air conditioner (see pic of scan) keeps this white convertible cool in more ways than one. That's me, climbing through 2nd gear right before I drop the camera so I can catch 3rd. (Is that the seatbelt light? Shame, shame.) Is this a beautiful place to conduct the business of driving or what? Parchment upholstery is in splendid condition. Vinyl boot is brand new and you get a wind blocker too. This is what a real sports car cabin should look like . . . . . . and this real sports car's interior is in real good condition. Riken Raptor ZR 205/45ZR16 steel belted radials have plenty of tread. There it is - 56,694 miles young. And, they're one owner, well cared for miles. Do I need to say this stereo sounds good? No changer in the trunk either, just load 6 CDs right here. Cruise control, driving lights and instrument cluster dimmer. Fancy mirror auto dims when the jerk behind you has his high-beams on. (also has a compass and outside temperature which, on the day I took this picture was 110°) Good thing the A/C blows this cold - see below.
