Garage kept!!! 1965 Lincoln Continental, Happy Bidding!!! CONTACT INFO: My name is Cassidy, if you need to contact me for more pictures or more info email me at: EMAIL-- rmguy22@yahoo.com This is a very clean 1965 Lincoln. It has been garage kept! There is no other Continental on eBay in this price range that is even close to its match. It is all original. That means the parts used for repair/replacement are FOMOCO or Lincoln. I used Lincoln International for all of my parts needs, and the other owner used Bakers. If you have any questions, feel free to message me. I have the full background info for interested bidders. The car is originally from Selby Motors in Arizona. I am the fourth owner, the second owner saw it in a Tucson paper and owned it for about 15 years. I bought it from a gentleman in New Orleans who owned three Lincolns and was moving to Atlanta for a job. He was unable to transport all of his belongings, his 2 daily drivers AND 3 Lincolns. That is how I acquired it in 2005. The car went through a small rebuild as a family project by the second owner. This got the car to the condition it is currently in, good, but not perfect. Here is a brief description of the car. DESCRIPTION The transmission oil was replaced along with a new pan gasket shortly before I purchased it. The shift linkage bushings may need to be replaced soon. A rebuilt pump, another fan clutch, points, plugs, condenser, oil and plug wires were also replaced at that time. The carburetor has been rebuilt about 7 months ago. My mechanic replaced the manifold (the original had a small crack) and flushed the coolant out in May 2008. Also replaced was the duel mufflers. My old school mechanic he has assured me this car is as good as they come. The hoses and wiring was checked and all parts in need of replacement were replaced at the same time as the engine work. I too have had some of the vacuum lines repaired/replaced. The vacuum canister needs replacing but the wipers and windows all work. The brake lines and fluid were replaced. After years of sitting, the paint had oxidized and rust being a non-issue, the course of action taken was to remove the oxidation and repaint. Modern urethane paint with a clear coat was used. The car has a very nice paint job. All of the chrome is all the original, thus the interior chrome has light pitting here and there from being stored for 15 years. The chrome has been polished by hand and cleans up quite nicely. The rear bumper has a slight indentation and can be fixed quite easily (shown in picture below). The electrical system works great, the instrument panel bulbs have been replaced along with the volt meter. The window, 8-way electric seats and blower switches were completely taken apart, cleaned and tested. The window regulators have been cleaned and greased for smoother operation. My mechanic rebuilt the drivers side front window motor in May 2008. The headlights, taillights, turn signals, brake lights, trunk light, license light and interior lights are all in working order. I have replaced all four lights (high and low beam) as well as having the old amp meter bypassed. In the 60's Lincolns, there seems to be an issue with the amp meter shorting out. This has been fixed by the bypass. Also, a new voltage regulator has been installed. The A/C is in working order and blows hard and cold. I have also replaced the weather stripping on all 4 doors ($150 per door). The stock radio and antenna does not work. I have not installed an after market radio, but it is simple to do and easy to hide, either in ther trunk with a remote, or in the glove box. The rear speakers are easy to replace. The front speakers are usually placed under the dash or in against the fire wall or in the kick panels. The trunk liner is a complete, authentic liner from Baker’s Auto in Rhode Island. A standout features of this car is its wonderful interior. The seat leather was replaced with high-quality craftsmanship and care. As much of the original interior as possible was saved. My Lincoln has an excellent interior including the carpets, dash, door panels and headliner. The headliner stitching has been completely re-sewn and the roof insulation was also replaced. The interior color is burgundy. It was matched by the best supplier in the U.S. for OEM upholstery materials, Doug Pollock at SMS Auto Fabrics out of Oregon. Color-Plus Leather Restoration System supplied the leather dye and instructions on how to apply the product. The carpeting is all original and is in very good condition. There are few Lincoln interiors that will rival this one. Representation I have driven this car for five years and am completely satisfied with its performance. It is, to the best of my knowledge, truthfully represented in this listing. This may not be the perception of a prospective buyer, therefore, I urge any bidder to inspect or have a qualified person inspect this car before bidding. This is a 45 year old car and is a gem. The car is, to the best of my knowledge, complete. I have an owners manual and will provide it to the new owner. I will attempt to answer any question and can email additional photos on request. I have made every effort to represent this car honestly, but it is up to the buyer to checked out before bidding to verify their own ideas/perceptions of the car. There are absolutely no warranties or guarantees expressed or implied. The car is sold "as is" at the close of auction. The buyer is solely responsible for pick-up/transportation of vehicle. There is no warranty, implied or otherwise. I will be available to show the vehicle during the auction period. PLEASE have the car looked at prior to purchase. Winning bid is a legal contract and must be upheld. There is a $500 deposit to be made within 24hrs from the close of auction! The deposit is non-refundable and will not be refunded under any circumstances. I accept Paypal or cash on pick-up, any other method of payment method should be discussed with me before bidding.
