Garage find-- Original, classic 1957 Chevrolet Bel-Air 4 door Hard Top Sport Sedan (no side posts). This car has been stored in a garage since 1972. I purchased the car about one year ago. Time has deteriorated the condition of the car. It will need a restoration. The car is factory Black with Red and Black interior. It is believed to be the original 283 V-8 Power Pack engine, dual exhast and Power-Glide 2 speed automatic transmission. It has original power steering and power brakes. The body is rust free with the exception of the filler panel below the trunk lid above the rear bumper. I have removed the front body parts to begin the restoration. The original front fenders had a little rust on the bottom corners that could have been repaired but I have replaced them with a pair of rust free originals. I bought another trunk lid to replace the original which someone had stood on. I have new side glass for the car with new chrome window moldings. All trim and hardware are included. The front windshield has a crack in it and the vent glasses are cloudy. I have original wheels and hubcaps for the car. The only original parts missing that I know of are the 4 barrel carburetor and the air breather housing, the steering wheel center that says Bel-Air and the driveshaft. These cars are increasing in value quickly and a few sold on E-Bay for $20-$30,000.00. A 57 4 door Hardtop sold at Barret-Jackson for $44,000.00. I restored a identical to this car 57' in the 1980's and it was featured leaving the Drive-In Theatre in the movie "The Outsiders" with Patrick Swayze and Diane Lane.
