Vehicle Detail
1927 Ford Model T Old School Hot Rod Classic Autoworx is proud to offer this Super Cool, Old School 1927 Ford Model T Hot Rod/ Rat Rod for sale at auction. This car has had some nice upgrades recently and is fun to drive, reliable and economical! This is a great first hot rod, or a reliable old school rod that someone who just wants to jump in, hit the key and go! YOU COULDN'T BUILD THIS CAR FOR THE RESERVE PRICE! PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT TO VIEW THE GIANT PHOTOS THAT HAVE BEEN LISTED HERE FOR YOUR CONVIENENCE. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, PLEASE ASK BEFORE BIDDING. This car is an original 1926/ 1927 Ford Model T with a steel body and steel doors. The body appears to have been a hot rod for quite some time. In sanding the car for paint, a very 60’s/ 70’s style orange paint scheme with green pin striping was found beneath the black primer that was on the car, indicating that this is truly an old school rod. The car has a model A hood on it, which looks decent but could use a little work for better fitment. You’ll notice pictures of the car with and without the hood. The hood comes with the car, whether the winning bidder runs it or not is entirely up to him/her. BODY/ PAINT: This is a unique vehicle compared to others that we generally sell in that the paint job on this car is not high dollar by design. It’s flat black with Sunrise Red scallops. Not a lot more to say about it than that. It looks good from 10 ft away and fits the identity of the car. It’s Old School / Rat Rod like. Built on a 2” x 3” boxed steel tube frame, the body isn’t perfect, but decent for it’s age. There is evidence that a rust repair was made at the rear of the body. Also supplied for your convenience/ amusement is a ammo box for a trunk, which also doubles as a license plate mount! The car has working headlights, taillights and turn signals. INTERIOR: The interior has had a little work done to it. The seating is gray velour and padded for comfort. The carpet is in good shape. The car has a removable steering wheel for security, new steering column, turn signals, newer mechanical sun pro gauges and a custom engine turned looking gauge panel which matches the firewall of the car. Pedals are custom made which resemble original Model T pedals and we can’t forget the “Don’t touch my Rat Rod…” sticker on the dash…comes with the car at no additional cost! DRIVELINE: The engine is the ever reliable Ford 2.0L Pinto engine, featuring exhaust header and open element custom aircleaner. It’s a real beast of an engine… I know! But to be honest, the car is very light weight and it’s still very peppy. Add the fuel economy in and this is about as cheap to own and operate hot rod as you can get! The transmission is a Ford C4 automatic with a B&M ratchet shifter and external trans cooler mounted beneath the car. The rear end is from a 1950’s Ford pickup. The car also features an electric fan set-up with adjustable temperature control. The battery is located beneath the car in a frame mounted battery tray. The fuel tank is an Italian made tank with flip open gas cap, adorned by a Barris Kustom sticker… definitely high end! If that wasn’t enough, also included is the custom Jack Daniels coolant recovery bottle! Brakes, Steering and Suspension: The car has had a number of recent upgrades to the steering system and suspension system. Recent upgrades include: Suicide batwings, reversed eye main leaf, new shackles, new stainless rack and pinion with Vega mount as well as stainless draglink tube. Braking system upgrades include: Wilwood dual reservoir, balance bar set-up, adjustable brake bias, IMCA metric brake calipers, stainless steel braided brake hoses front and rear, performance brake pads, 11” front brake rotors and misc parts. Around $1,500 in recent upgrades. Let me state this as a disclaimer: This is not a rotisserie built, nut and bolt, frame off or body off restored show car. This car was built to drive, be fun and enjoyed on the weekends. Any ideas that this car will be unloaded and be immaculate as anything new and flawless, you’ll likely be disappointed. Yes, its FUN and could happily be enjoyed as is. But there are still a few things to “tinker” with if a person so chose. You should expect a few flaws not listed in the auction, afterall it’s impossible to cover everything on a car with this much character and age. The car looks cool and was meant to be driven on the weekends and hopefully someone will get a lot of pleasure from owning this beautiful car. BID TO WIN!!!
