Vehicle Detail
I bought this Impala to replace my 1994 9c1 caprice. I use my caprice to transport my sons to football and soccer, park in the shopping plazas, movie theatres gym etc.No worry about the rude door dingers and bumper/fender hit and runs. After washing the years of garage dust off her,it turns out this impala is simply too clean for that, and Id be afraid to leave it,id be parking miles away and worried.Ill put her for sale this once,at a reasonable price. If no sale, then I will simply put it on the road and sell my faithful caprice as originally planned. It is as straight as an arrow, has no accident history, and is a one owner non smoker owned car.I will give you the clear signed Tennasee title from the original owners who bought it off the showroom floor. There are perfect, low mileage examples of this car for sale here on ebay, but they are certainly not inexpensive. This one is not perfect, but I dare you to find one nicer anywhere near the miles,at my asking price.I was told the original trans was rebuilt 2 times since new, last time at 200k.The engine was replaced at 185K with an identical 80K 1996 Impala ss engine. It was outfitted then with an underdrive pulley, hooker shorty headers performance cats and flowmaster exhaust.4 matching decent bf goodrich t/a radials. The miles are all highway going from a home in Tenn. to a second home in northern Illinois several times a year.It runs well with no noise and has no fluid leaks. The driveshaft and rear were also rebuilt. There is a rebuild tag on the driveshaft.I was given no proof of these rebuilds but I was buying the car anyway and the old lady seller had no reason to fib.Her husband had put all the receipts somewhere they could not find. This car shows as a much lower mileage car.especially the usual wear items, such as the leather steering wheel, dashboard, console drivers door panel etc.All these items are near perfect. The lower front seat cushions show better than impalas with 1/3 the miles. Its 4 original floor mats in good shape are in the trunk.Original spare and setup covered and stowed in place.CD stereo works great. All lights work. All gauges work and light correctly including odometer.Id at least buff the top of the rear bumper cover, and repaint the spoiler that has the common paint chipped ends,to make this car look almost new. There is a small chip here and there and a small section of front hood clear peel(see photo) but, with a small touchup pen and a rug shampoo this would visually pass as an 80k mile car.She has been off the road + garaged, since the original owner passed away over 5 years ago. With a weekend of effort and going over everything this would make a super nice inexpensive Impala ss.Ive just replaced the front brakes with premium pads.Replaced the front stabilizer links with a set of urathanes, and gas front shocks. The front end feels tight as a pin.The heat works great, the a/c is fully charged but the clutch does not engage, unless the pressure switch is jumped.Id bet its simply an inline filter.Check engine light will come on at startup sometimes and sometimes flash and go out.Ive not coded it.Of course sold as is.I will help with pickup,or your transporter any way possible. Please only bid on this car if its ok with all family members and you know you want it.This can easily be a real nice rare 96 SS.Any questions anytime.Deposit must be made at auction end.Thank you.
