Vehicle Detail
I am selling my 1976ish IH Scout, at this point just about everything has been replaced except the body and frame. This is a no reserve auction, but I do have a 5000 dollar buy it now. It is a sweet machine that will go just about anywhere, and anywhere you go you will get a bunch of attention. I started working on it about 7 years ago, but overseas deployments have slowed me down. For the last five years it has mostly sat, I have just been starting it and running it enough to keep things from going bad. I am sad to see it go, but I am moving and I can't take it with me. It is about 80% complete right now, most of the parts have been bought and it just needs to be tweaked and finished. Here is a list of everything that has been added. Motor -360 AMC (The engine had been swapped when I bought it, it is supposed to be bored .03 over around 12,000 miles on the rebuild) - Edelbrock Performer Intake - Edelbrock ORV cam - Holley Truck Avenger 670cfm Carb - Holley blue electric fuel pump - MSD Offroad Ignition - MSD Wires - MSD Pro Billet Distributor - MSD High vibration coil - 401 Exhaust Manifolds - Duel Exhaust Transmision - 727 -B&M Shifter Bumper - Warn Winch Bumper - No rear bumper - Factory swing out tire carrier ( Never installed) Suspension - Spring Over - 4" Skyjacker lift - Factory springs are included Running Gear (1 Ton axles out of a 87 chevy) +Front Axle ( Nuckles have been rotated) - Dana 60 - 4.56 Gears - Eaton Electric Locker - Warn Hubs - Bilistien remote reservior shocks - Poision Spider High Steer and Tie Rod - Custom Stainless Steel Brakelines - Custom High Angel Drivline with a 1 1/4 ton u-joint - Custom yoke - Custom Shock hoops - Skyjacker drop pitman arm + Rear Axle - GM 14 Bolt - 4.56 Gears - Locker - Heavy Duty Rear Diff cover - Rancho RS9000X Adj. Shocks - Custom high angle driveline - Brackets to convert to disc brakes Tires - 39.5x15 R16.5 Super Swapers (Almost new, have maybe 100 miles on them, there are some cuts in the tread blocks from the fenders) Interior - Seats out of 94 Ford Ranger - Custom Guages - Painless wiring kit ( The rewire isn't complete yet, the guy before me put in the guages and put in new wire for them, problem is he didn't remove any of the old and didn't take the time to make the conections the right way. I have gradually replaced the old wiring, but it isn't complete) - Rollbar (Comes with the parts for the roll cage, just needs to be installed) - Newly upolstered rear seat - Switch Panel (to run aux items, right now only the fuel pump is hooked up) Body ( It is in good shape for a scout, there is very little rust, just a little on the front floor boards. The fenders have been trimmed to help clear the tires. Need to be trimmed more, as they still rub on the tires as is) - No bondo ( I replaced both fenders with clean ones) - SSII Door Inserts ( I didn't paint the doors, because I was going to put the fiberglass door inserts in and take the top off) - Paint ( I sprayed it myself, not a great job, mainly just to keep the rust off until I finished and took it in for a prof. job) As you can see I have done a lot to this scout and have invested way more time and money into it than I would ever want to admit. I hate to get rid of it, but it can't sit any longer. Like I said above it is about 80% complete, most of the parts are there, it just needs finished. This is what I know is not right and still needs work. The front seal on the transfer case leaks, with the big tires the power steering pump leaks, the front axle had the nuckles rotated, but right now the bump steer is pretty bad, also the axle is too heavy for the springs to hold the yoke up and the shckle flips up against the frame. It will stay with the two inch lift shackles, but won't with regular length ones. Will probably need a shackle reversal at some point. Again the wiring isn't finished, but it does include the painless wiring kit to finish it. The battery will run down in a few days if you leave it connected. The front floor has a couple of holes that will need to be patched and painted ( I was just going to get the tub sprayed). It has duel exhaust, but there are a couple of holes on the pipes by the rear tires. I have listed everything I can think of, if you have any questions just let me know. I want whoever gets this thing to be happy. As I am sure you know my scout is sold as is, where is and buyer is to coordinate shipping. A 500 dollar deposit is required within 48 hours of auction end ( This is just to make sure you are serious about getting it) Prior coordination needs to be made if you cannot pick up before July 15th.
