Vehicle Detail
Absolutely beautiful 1970 Nova Yenko Deuce clone Classic Autoworx is proud to offer this fantastic 1970 Hurst Yenko Deuce Nova clone for your consideration. Before we get into the details about the car, let’s start with some history… The Clean Air Act of 1970 changed the way muscle cars were going to be built. This new National Legislation, combined with the high cost of rising insurance rates, caused Don Yenko to counter with the 1970 LT1 Z/28 350ci powered Yenko Deuce Nova. The platform car was a COPO 9010, and it was advertised as a "mini musclecar." This package was intended to fly under the insurance radar. Total '70 Yenko Deuce sales were said to be 175 according to "Super Chevy" magazine ( including 50 Hurst Yenko Deuce’s ). The package included a Z/28 Camaro - LT1 Corvette 350 engine, a Muncie 4-speed manual transmission, F41 sport suspension and a 12-bolt differential with a 4.10:1 posi-traction. Rally wheels without trim rings were also part of the base package. PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT TO VIEW THE GIANT PHOTOS THAT HAVE BEEN LISTED HERE FOR YOUR CONVIENENCE. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, PLEASE ASK BEFORE BIDDING. You can't touch a real Yenko Deuce in this condition for under $100,000 but you can have this one for much, MUCH less!!! This particular car started out as a V8 powered 1970 Nova 2dr built at the Willow Run, MI. plant on the 4th week of September 1969. What made it so appealing to turn into the legendary Yenko Deuce is the rust free body that it retained. This California/ Arizona car still has all of it’s original sheetmetal including trunk pan, which is solid. Check out the restoration pic of when the restoration was started! BEFORE... AFTER... The car has never been wrecked that we can see or had any major structural repairs. No, it’s not a real LT1 powered Cranberry Red Hurst Yenko Deuce with a 4spd, but it definitely looks the part! Obviously, we can forget about #’s matching components here. If that’s what you desire, break out your wallet for at another $100,000. This car was built to drive, have fun on the weekends and cruise the local shows… maybe even take home a few trophies. The paint is a professionally applied, basecoat/ clearcoat in Cranberry Red, with black Yenko stripes. The car was color sanded and buffed, new emblems and new bumpers, trim and Dixco hood tachometer were added. Though the tach is not hooked up yet. It looks beautiful but the car is about 90% done. This car was built to be a VERY nice driver and it is! Though, someone could take it to the next level with very easily. The body was very straight to start with as evidence by the clean original inner quarter panels and rust free trunk pan... never even a pin hole! The interior was partially restored as well, including new seat upholstery, seat buns and backs, new headliner, carpet, dash cap, arm rest pads, handles, cranks and steering wheel. The door panels both front and rear are in beautiful shape. Fuel gauge works, interior lights, turn signals and wipers work as well, speedometer cable is not connected. No A/C but the heater is connected and it does blow hot. New Hurst shifter assembly and boot. There is no radio in the car. The engine was professionally rebuilt about 5 miles ago and sounds great as you can hear in the videos. The majority of the driving it has done is in the videos that are posted for this auction. IT’S FRESH and what a beast it is! You can see how it lifts the front of the car in the videos and breaking the tires loose is almost too easy. The 350ci V8 features an Edelbrock 750cfm carburetor and an Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold. A Comp Cams RV style performance cam was added as well as a new HEI distributor, water pump, pulleys and brackets, valve covers, alternator…etc. The 4spd trans was also rebuilt and shifting duties are done by a Hurst shifter assembly. A new clutch is also in the car, with about 5 miles on all components. It will grabs gears with authority! It’s a nice strong, well built transmission as well. Other improvements include an electric fuel pump, custom aluminized dual exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers/ dumps, a rebuild of the braking system including a new front Power Disc brake system and chrome dress up items as well as factory style aircleaner under the hood. Let me state this as a disclaimer: This is not a rotisserie built, nut and bolt restored show car. This car was built to drive and to be enjoyed on the weekends. Any ideas that this car will be unloaded and be immaculate as new and you’ll probably be disappointed. It is about 90% completed. Yes its beautiful and could happily be enjoyed as is. But there are still a few things to “tinker” with such as: Hooking up the Dixco tach, getting a good sounding stereo system in the car (unless you just like the sound of humming Flowmasters), hook up the speedo cable, get a new/ original trim piece for the drivers door window surround, little things here and there such as that. The flaws that do exist, a person could miss if they weren’t looking for them such as a ding in an obscure spot that wasn’t caught before paint. You should expect things such as this in a nice weekend driver, but you wouldn’t in a nut and bolt restoration, which this car isn’t. The car looks beautiful and was meant to be driven on the weekends and hopefully someone will get a lot of pleasure from owning this beautiful car. I spent more time actually detailing the car and photographing it than I have driving it. BID TO WIN!!!
