Vehicle Detail

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY! I have dropped the reserve price on this car $500, as I need the room in my garage for other projects. Please plan to haul extra trunk, hood, and glass if you buy the car as I need to get them out of my storage asp. I bought this car in 2005 with intentions of hot rodding it. I soon became aware of the originality of the car. As far as I am aware, the car has 81,400 miles on it now. I purchased it from the second owner who bought the car in 1984. She had it repaired and repainted, new upholstery, headliner, etc at that time. She had the brakes redone in 1998 or so. I do have a letter from her stating that the odometer is original mileage. She drove it as her daily transportation, so it does have some rock chips, etc, in the paint, and a couple of places someone got carried away while buffing on the fins. The door panels, inside trim and dash are all original according to her. The headliner has a small hole above each sun visor because when she had it stored, mice got into it. I have found no other damage. Please check all the pictures, as the interior is very nice. It even has the very hard to find dome light lens. I obtained a 241 cu. inch Polysphere V8 which runs smooth, in lieu of rebuilding the flathead six, therefore the car is NOT totally orignial now, but it is a 1955 motor according to the man I got it from. It runs very quiet and doesn't seem to smoke, other than some flooding when it is cold. It has 40 lbs oil pressure when warm and there are no noises coming from the motor. Car comes with extra trunk lid, hood, windshield (present one has wiper marks), back glass, radiator, some trim, original hubcaps, assorted small parts, most everything to convert to 12 volt other than bulbs, including a later distributor. Drivers side door glass is cracked, but I have a replacement that goes with the car. Complete new exhaust system, Smithy mufflers, functional stainless side pipes have been installed as well as new Monroe air shocks on rear. V8 emblems come with car. The car has a new turn signal switch, brake light switch and all tires are practically new. Carb is a rebuilt, but needs a kit, provided with car. There is also a good set of stock taillights. Front seal on transmission leaks, new seal and gasket set goes with car, along with another three speed transmission. Throw-out bearing should be replaced while putting in new seals on transmission. Car also comes with 2" lowering blocks which I removed after some of the pics because it was too hard to load on a trailer. Also included are a new set of boots for the drive shaft, and a new gas pedal. I simply have not had time to install everything. With some TLC, this is a great parade car or Sunday driver. It does get the stares and questions. There is some rust in the trunk on the drivers side in the body mount hole, and the trunk area. There is also a small dent on the drivers side front quarter panel. Check the pictures. Have new water temp and gas gauges that go with the car. It does need a new sending unit for the fuel tank. I am selling the car because I don't want to cut it up and hot rod it, and also because I seem to have too many toys and not enough time. I try to be completely honest and will answer any questions about the car. More pictures are available, as car was dirty from sitting in the garage in some of the pics. This Plymouth even has a name. She is "Marilyn" as named by her former owner. She has basically been in storage for the last 8 years. As the car has been sitting and driven very little in the last few years, I would strongly advise you to arrange for a car trailer to haul it home. I will help load the car, and might even deliver to a local area (under 200 miles) for $1.00 per mile loaded after full payment has been made. Please do not bid unless you are serious.
