Up for auction is a 1972 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ55. I ran this auction a few times already under a different ebay account and it is the same truck you may have seen before. This truck has a rebuilt 2F engine from out of a 1985 FJ60 that has a high performance cam, Weber 38 carb setup, Davis Unified Ignition (Chevy coil in electronic type), headers, and no smog equipment. The rebuilt engine has about 35,000 miles on it and starts easily and runs very smoothly with excellent power. I adapted a rebuilt four-speed Toyota transmission to the original rebuilt Toyota three-speed transfer case which in turn provides an extra low gear ratio in the lower two gears. I replaced the front drum brakes with a disc brake kit from PT Cruisers (works great). I also replaced the rear brake cylinders with new ones and replaced the brake shoes and master cylinder. The body has some rust issues under the primer job and you can see some spots that have bondo. I sanded, acid etched and coated the interior floor with roll on truck bed liner. it is pretty smooth and will paint over nicely. There are no rust issues with the floor boards. The value in this Cruiser is in the mechanical aspects of it as I have about $10,000 invested in that. I got the front bench seat out of a '69 FJ55 to replace the old '70's buick seats that came with it when I bought it. The seats need new upholstery and the door panels need to be made for it. I have a new headliner from sor.com that comes included. I also am including all new door seals (not including the tailgate) and many other parts to finish the restoration.
