Up for sale is my 1979 Chevy Malibu Classic Landau...History--car was my late great aunts. She bought it as a dealer demo in 1979 with a few hundred miles on it..When I bought it she was 98 and the car had an original 44,000 ... The car has spent most of its life garaged up until two years ago when garage was needed for other storage (married with kids now)... I had been driving this for four years up until August 2009. I need a safer car for my children, when they travel with dad, my wife explained to me. I bought a truck and now the car has been sitting and opted not to reinspect it while tooling around with getting antique tags and dirt cheap insurance, but never got to it... I start the car and run it for a half hour or so every couple weeks and move it around my yard driving my wife nuts! Ok here is everything I can tell you about this Chevy.. 1979 Chevrolet Malibu Classic Landau. 73,967 original miles 267 V8 motor 2 barrel carb 4.4liter automatic, pwr steering, ac No fluid leaks , no oil, trans., pwr steering, or radiator has ever leaked onto the driveway or ground, to my knowledge since my aunt drove it, to the time I owned it. Body: 2 door , no dents , in very very good shape. Very clean car overall. Original glass in excellent condition, doors are tight, molding is in good shape, no tears or cuts in top ,all body side molding still original to car in excellent condition. No cracked or broken lights, sidemarkers,or taillights. Still has original valance that the car came with... BE SURE TO LOOK AT ALL PICTURES---- Mechanical: Routine oil changes and mantaince. Motor runs excellent and has no taps, noises or such. She runs clean. Car will idle high at warm up say 3mins. then I tap the accellerator pedal and she idles down to a nice rpm. Never had any trouble with this Chevy... Drove it 90 miles a day for over a year, then here and there; because my wife deems it unsafe for the kids... Good gas mileage, One of the Most dependable cars I have ever owned. Had many offers over the years from people who wanted to buy this car but never wanted to sell it till now. I cant stand it sitting and not being driven...As we all know that is the worse thing for a car, to sit!!!!!!!I do not drive it so less exposure to would be buyers! Mech. things needing attention as of now that I know of: The AC unit did work at one time but I could not get cold air recently when I moved the car. The Belts also need to be changed. The tail pipe after the muffler needs to be replaced. Can use new rear shocks. On passenger side-- front wheelwell trim has scrape on the chrome well trim; no damage to wheelwell just trim.. Crazy but thats about it! Interior: The plastic/door panels, hardware and such show wear but easily refurbished... carpet fully intact but faded, solid floor pans! windows go up and down (by hand) easily. Missing plastic handle roller on one, Rivet wore out but in glove box. Have original radio and front radio/control trims and such, was going to install my own radio but decided not to disturbe any of the wiring...Has the old windshield antenna...DASH has one small heat crack in it which happened last summer--other than that it is clean and in good shape... The seats have not NO tears, THE FRONT OR BACK!!! NO holes or worn out sides! be sure to see pics... Head liner was removed but shell spect painted and reinstalled...Original floormats and the seatbelts still have the clean GM label on them. The door jambs are still clean with original GM stickers and plastic vents.. Doors open and close tightly , no door sag. This is a clean solid car in way above averge condition for being 31yrs old.. extra info: have original manuels and paper work and stuff that came with the car when my G. Aunt bought it.. She kept almost everything...Have two or three of the original hubcaps, lost others on highway! New tires with maybe 4,000 miles on them.
