NO RESERVE AUCTION-BID TO WIN! We are putting on ebay a 96 VW Passat GLS 4 cyl 2.0 liter engine and 5 spd manual transmission. Miles are 89,xxx but is driven often. I purchased this at a auction that sells donated vehicles. This was supposed to be for my older son who was coming home from college for the summer but seems he has other plans. When I bought the car, it would run great for a little while and then quit. Our A.S.E. certified mechanic checked it out and found out it had a bad a/c compressor which caused the engine to stop once it got warm. The compressor has been replaced and it runs great. We also had to replace the thermostat housing and one hose. I have put over 1,000 miles on this car driving it here and there making sure there were no problems before giving this to my son. The car has been throughly checked out by my A.S.E. certified mechanic, tuned up and oil changed. There are no mechanical issues with the vehicle. The engine runs great, transmission shifts fine, clutch is tight, brakes and exhaust are good, tires are 80% and matching. A/C blows cold and all windows work. Only thing not working now is the radio which needs a code due to the fact the battery went dead sitting at the auction. I will call VW and get the code. The interior is in good shape for the age. Only issue there is the cup holders which are a hard plastic are broken. Exterior is in good shape. There is one driving light which has a broken lense. We encourage inspection and are open everyday but Sunday (see hours below). Vehicle is sold "as is" but a warranty is available for an additional cost. This vehicle is at our inspection/repair facility in Fairview Heights, IL which is 10 miles east of St. Louis, MO. We are a Missouri used car dealer and can meet you anywhere in the St. Louis area to complete paperwork. This is an absolute auction and will be sold to the highest bidder.
