Vehicle Detail

This car is being sold "AS IS - WHERE IT IS", there are no warranties of any kind. WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET. I suggest that you personally take a look at the car if you have doubts about what this is. The car has not been cranked or driven in nearly 20 years. I want anyone considering placing a bid to know that I have no idea what kind of condition the engine or transmission could be in. The buyer must make arrangements to tow the car from its present location and bear all costs associated with transportation of the car. I began an abbreviated restoration of the car back in the late 80's to early 90's. The car was in very bad shape even then, it had been sitting in storage for many years, with lots of rust and decay. The interior was pretty shot, the floor boards had holes in them, the top and sides had areas rusted through, etc. I did get the car running, had the original power glide transmission re-built, brakes re-built, did some minor engine repairs, and would take the car for short drives. After having our third child and then moving, I had to abandon the project and the car was stored in a barn for many years until the barn suffered wind damage and the car was dragged out to its present location about 12 years or so ago. The car interior is now completely shot, headliner almost gone, all of the exterior chrome finish is gone, and exterior has even more rust. Somewhere along the way I have lost the rear bumper. This is an original 1952 Chevrolet Deluxe, the "Bel Air" model; a 2-door, 5 window, no-post coupe. The car has been in my family for over 40 years, it belonged to my Grandad and was passed down to me from my Dad. The mileage is original, but probably is of no real consequence. I'm not sure what someone might be able to do with this car but I'm sure anything is possible, and I certainly wish that it could be restored. The car has almost all of its original parts, including hood and trunk ornaments, stainless trim pieces, hubcaps, stainless trim rings, steering wheel, clock, radio, turn signal, etc. The exterior chrome/ornamnets were removed and are stored in the trunk. The original ID plate is shown in the photos. The car was originally twilight blue with a birch grey top, had blue leather/blue cloth interior. The engine is the 235 cu.in., in-line straight 6 cylinder. TITLE - the car was registered in my name back when I first started the restoration, but it has never been titled. SHIPPING - The buyer is responsible for all shipping costs and arrangements, and must take possession of car within 21 days of auction close.
