Looking for real history? Try this rare 1969 Mercury Cyclone Cale Yarborough Special.  We have the Marti report verifying the VIN. Only 284 of theses vehicle produced with this paint/trim code.  This 351 fastback has a production date of 1-30-69 which was reportedly 14 days behind schedule(just for a fun fact). It was built for delivery to Ferrell Lincoln Mercury in Decatur Georgia and Georgia has been its home ever since. The car is all there and we even have a few extra parts that will aid in the restoration of this remarkable piece of history. We have a new headliner, new sail panels, the Cale Yarborough sticker pack, many small chrome trim pieces as well as the factory valve covers, air cleaner and 14" wheels with the right center caps.The body is solid and for the most part has little rust to mention. You will find a little surface rust and some light bubbles in the rockers and lower quarter but nothing really all the way through and nothing bigger than an eraser head. She has been repainted in her life and I am sure that just helped the body stay in the condition it has. The interior is all there and is a great starting block for your new project. The dash is perfect, just dirty. The back seat looks like it might even clean up and be 100%. The front seats are pretty far gone and need complete rework. The carpet must have been replaced at some point because it looks as if a good scrub and vacuum it would be 100%. The door panels are all there but need some TLC. All the glass is in good shape and no replacement is needed. The engine has been gone through,as we were told by previous owner, and she does crank right up and she drives right down the road. I will be honest in saying we just took her around the block for a quick test drive. We are not selling this as a daily driver, but I don't think she would be far from it and would take very little money to make yourself confident in the mechanics. Guys this can be a real unique restoration project. Take a look at Barrett Jackson to see what one went for in the not so far ago past. If you are looking for a real piece of muscle car history combined with a true piece of NASCAR history this is it. Very few cars have this cross over collectible desirability.
