Vehicle Detail

Third time’s a charm! G-body Caminos in good shape typically average $7500.00 on eBay. This one is in GREAT shape and my reserve is set much lower. 1984 GMC Caballero Amarillo (GMC/Sprinter Version of the El Camino.) Over 60K of parts and labor invested and you will not be disappointed! Reached picture limit with ebay, you can download 83 pictures of the car picturing everything in full detail here. http://www.bradster.net/forsale.zip Put 10,000 miles on it between 2003-2004. Mainly to just car shows or a Sunday cruise. This is an immaculate show car, I challenge anyone to find one in better condition, you won’t find it! If you want a show room quality car of perfection, this is it. When I drive this down the road or take it to a classic car show it’s a real head turner. If you want attention you’ll have eyes glued to you in this unmatched thing of beauty. The Body – I took auto body classes at night in high school just for this car to ensure it was done right. The paint was completely stripped to bare metal with one D/A sander. Then premiered then wet sanded repeatedly until body and factory body became perfectly straight. In 1984 GM had problems with their paint, what many don’t know is stripping a car from GM of that year that’s 4 times the length of time due to that year paint. The body it’s self I put over a thousand hours in prep work. At the average $42 hourly rate for body work that’s a $42,000 value! It’s straight as an arrow, no orange peal it has a stream line mirror finish! The bed was in great shape which is extremely rare; I even spent countless hours crawling around the bed taking it to bare metal by hand. I had the car painted all black, not satisfied with the way it turned out I started over and spent another 160 hours doing wet sanding prep another $6720 value! After heavy research I found the right painter and I invested $4000.00 on the paint job. The paint after seven years and only 10,000 miles is still show quality perfect. Paint has never seen weather, ever! Replaced all the chrome clips, front end, grill, head light bezels, headlights, front bumper, all door and window seals hood emblem. Brand new American racing rims and BF Goodrich tires (still the same since 2003, shows you how little I drove it) Chrome all original. This car has not seen rain and has been garage kept and under cover since 2003. (Comes with high quality car cover). Interior Believe it or not it’s original minus the head liner. sun visors still need to be installed but they are still wrapped in plastic. The bezel where the radio goes I have the original bezel and the radio. I did not want to modify the original interior piece and ruin it. Original goes with the car. Note: Heater/vent fans work however selector (floor, vent, defrost) is not responding. Must be from sitting. Engine/Transmission Engine: 1998 350 Vortech I replaced the engine in 1998 with a 1998 350 Chevy Vortech motor 330-350 HP only 35,000 miles on motor. Runs perfect sounds great. Note all these parts are new. I put on a new intake, Holley 650 double pumper, replaced the lifters and rockers with 1.6’s and a radical cam for the sound. Replaced timing chain. New Electric fuel pump, new HEI disruptor (GM OEM for a Corvette). Transmission: 350 Turbo with shift kit and a new 1500 Stall converter 10,000 miles Totally Custom built at a local performance shop with brand new parts from the pan up, even with the shift kit the car shifts smoothly and will chirp 2nd gear just cruising normally, it really gets attention. Rear: Still has the original rear in the car, I did however replaced the stock ratio from 3:08 to 3:73 with new ring and pinion gears (yes, its posi). In total both the engine and transmission has 10,000 miles on it. Have about $5000.00 tied up between the two. I’ve replaced pretty much every mechanical thing on this car I can think of. I’ve restore the car from the tires up, replaced everything as I went (new drum brake kit with master wheel cylinders, brake hoses, rotors, suspension, drive shaft universal joints, upper and lower ball joints, shocks all the way around, master cylinder, battery. While engine and transmission was out I spent a few days detailing the engine compartment with cleaners. Repainted the Radiator support flat black. the list is endless. Also note 80% of the parts are GM OEM, Rest Napa or Carquest no cheap aftermarket crap. I don’t have all the parts documented but the amount of time and parts replaced were pretty substantial. I wanted the car to be perfect in every way. I have a stack of receipts a few inches thick on some of the new parts replaced on the car. Exhaust was custom made from the headers back at Meineke. 2 and a half inch, with Flow masters, don’t remember brand name on headers. It sounds both beautiful and mean with the pipes and cam and 1.6 rocker arms. Extra’s! Comes with Custom stereo box for inside the truck behind the seat, custom built by me for two 12” subwoofers (not included) . 2.5 Cubic inches per 12” sub woofer. Replaced front speakers with nice Infinity Kappa speakers, also added 2 6” speakers and custom mounted in the truck area of the car for full sound. Also an amp for subwoofers installed and waiting. I do have the original radio and radio bezel that goes with the car (I didn’t want to modify the original to fit the CD player) You get the CD player in the car and the one that came with it (worked in 1998 when I replaced it) Original rally wheels with original dress rings and cap. Viper Car alarm with starter disabled option installed. Won’t allow you to start the car if the alarm is going off. I had a local garage due a fresh PA State inspection and emissions on the car three months early to show this is a sound and safe vehicle. Only needed a tail light bulb! I want to bring the follow things to your attention to be as honest as possible. Driver side door seal has become unglued, will need to reglue the top part of window. Speedometer is 15MPH off due to rear ratio change Heater fans control work, however selector (floor, vent, AC, etc) doesn’t seem to be moving, must be from sitting so long .Most likely vaccume leak. Front window chrome needs installed (Have them, and chrome clips already in place) The very few blimishes are illustrated and pointed out in detail on the pictures. Make sure to download the 83 pictures to futher go over the car in detail. This includes the normal wear on front bumper plastic side bezel pieces, driver side door tiny chip and small dent in bed. Horn sounds a bit weak. I hope this long winded description satisfies most of the questions about the car and identifies the type of hard work, quality and care put in restoring this vehicle to this caliber of detail. I may have over done it with description photos and going over the car to the point of redundancy but this is what I would want and expect when bidding on-line without fear or risk of not being satisfied. Hate to see it go but I cannot justify the room after putting 2,000 miles on it in the last six years. Upon closing of the auction a $500 direct PayPal deposit is required within 24 hours.
