Vehicle Detail

1967 Plymouth GTX 440 4 Speed Factory Black with Blue Interior Beautiful & Rare Combo! BODY Most of the black exterior paint is original and the blue interior is in remarkably good condition. It appears that the passenger fender and door have been replaced some time ago. There was no frame rail, rocker or inner fender well damage so I suspect the panels were replaced due to minor damage. The only rust I could locate are some pin holes on both lower quarters behind the rear wheel openings. The trunk floor and all floor pans have no problems. This is one solid body! TRIM All exterior trim is there and is in average condition. Same is true for the interior trim although the windshield and back glass trim is in very nice condition. INTERIOR All of the seat covers are in very good condition and the door panels are average. Although the dash pad is cracked, a new reproduction blue dash pad goes with the car. DRIVETRAIN I believe the engine is the original, it has the correct C 440 HP stamping and a correct assembly date for the car, the engine turns over freely. The car comes with the correct casting number 11" cast iron bell housing and the correct vintage 1967 18 spline Hemi 4 speed transmission which appears to be the original to the car as does the correct original 1967 vintage Dana 60. All other major components such as the radiator, heads, intake, exhaust manifolds, carburetor, etc. are all 1967 numbers correct. HISTORY & DOCUMENTATION I have owned this car and have stored it indoors since 1996. This is 1 of 2,486 GTX 440 4 speed cars built in 1967 (according to Galen Govier) made in the first year of GTX production. I don't know how many black on blue 440 4 speeds were built (there were no records kept to show that) but you can bet there aren't many around these days, especially in this condition. The odometer shows 79,000 miles and based on it’s condition I believe this to be correct. The car shows no signs of ever being altered or modified for racing etc. beyond simple bolts ons and repair items. The car comes with its original fender tag and the SO number body stampings (radiator support and rear quarter pinch weld behind the bumper) are both there and match the fender tag SO number as they should. More information about this car may be available through Chrysler Historical (They should have the original IBM card on file). I have a clean Tennessee title for the car. I do not have the cars Broadcast Sheet. This is a rare opportunity to own and restore a first year GTX in a rare and highly desirable color and option combination. This vehicle is being sold "AS IS" "WHERE IS" and is located in Seminole Florida with possible delivery to Chryslers at Carlisle in July for a reasonable fee, please inquire for a delivery price BEFORE bidding. This car is owned by my long time friend, I am only helping him by listing it for sale. I have seen the car in person and will vouch for all of the above claims. If you have any questions feel free to contact me BEFORE you bid. Bidders with bidder history less than 10 positive feedbacks, or more than 2 negative feedbacks will need to contact me before bidding or your bids will be cancelled. On May-27-10 at 17:52:20 PDT, seller added the following information: *I have already received a fair number of phone calls asking about the reserve or a "Buy It Now" price. I will not be offering any information in terms of what the reserve is set at. This is meant to be an auction, not a set price Classified ad like Craigslist, please bid what you are willing to pay for the car. Any other questions about the car will be answered as quickly and honestly as possible. Thank you and good luck bidding! On May-30-10 at 16:34:55 PDT, seller added the following information: *I have confirmed that a correct original drive shaft will be included in the sale of the car.On Jun-01-10 at 18:08:52 PDT, seller added the following information: *There have been several people who've contacted me about the cancelled bid. I want it to be known by all that I cancelled the bid (it was not retracted). The bidder had poor auto related feedback and did not reply to my e-mail questioning the validity of his bidding so I removed it. I will do everything in my power to keep the bidding on this auction 100% legitimate. Look at the feedback that the second to the last seller left for him and you will see why I removed it. It is a positive feedback but the remarks are negative. Bid retraction and cancellation history Bidder Action / Explanation Date of Bid and Retraction Member Id: backincharger( 238) Cancelled: US $10,000.01 Explanation: Poor feedback for another auto transaction - No reply to my contact request Bid: May-27-10 18:18:52 PDT Cancelled: May-31-10 11:55:45 PDTOn Jun-03-10 at 17:50:10 PDT, seller added the following information: *I have had several requests for the data stamped on the engines ID pad (small machined pad at the front of the engine opposite the distributor). The stampings are as follows: C440 5 8 HP Decodes as follows: "C" = 1967 Production Model Year "440" = 440 Cubic Inches "5" "8" = May 8th 1967 Assembly date - (This assembly date pre-dates the cars June 8th, 1967 Scheduled Production Date by just under one month, just as it should for it to be the cars original engine). "HP" = High Performance Engine.
