Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a very nice, very rare 1981 Pontiac Firebird (like the Trans Am T/A). This car is a true survivor, except for 1 repaint in the late 90s and the american racing wheels you see on the car. This car has been gently enjoyed over the years and has just over 73k miles. I believe the car is a special order car, because it is the base Firebird but loaded. The Firebird is a California Car, that was ordered by Koons Pontiac in Manassas Virginia, it has since always been a Virginia car. It is the highly desirable factory black car. I have the buildsheet (in perfect condition) and all the options are correct, it has the following options and check this out it all works!!! Air-Conditioning (blows cold), Tilt wheel, power windows, power door locks, cruise-control, camaro bucket seats, dual front and rear speakers, time delay wipers, and am/fm radio with 8track. Like I said it all works right down to the clock and the door buzzer. It also has the original spare tire and jack in the trunk. The car is equipped with a 4.3 liter 260 v8 engine, it’s all stock at 120 hp and is strong and has a little bit of pep to it, the engine is economical averaging about 23mpg. The engine is backed by a 3 speed transmission that shifts as it should. The interior is flawless, and shows minimal wear. It has a newer headliner and does have 1 crack in the dash but I have the dash cover for it. As you can see from the pictures the car is laser straight, this car is rust and bondo free. The floors, trunk, frame, and undercarriage are all solid. The paint shines great, but does have a few chips here and there being that it is nearly 15 years old. The ol’ saying I’d drive it to California and back is true on this car, fly in and drive it home. I have driven it on 300 mile road trips and it performs flawlessly, you can cruise comfortably at 70mph no shakes, rattles, leaks, unnecessary play, just enjoyable driving straight down the road. If you are looking for a car that everyone loves (people are always calling it the Bandit) that won’t break the bank then this is the car. This would be the perfect first car and insurance is less than $200 a year. The only reason for this sale is because I need money. If I were to keep the car the only things I would do is add the chrome strips back like it originally had on the side of the car and touch up the exhaust tips. Also it needs the heater core replaced but I have the parts to fix it and will try to have that done before auction ends. This car truly is a must-see, and the pictures do not do it justice. I urge anyone who is interested to come by and inspect the car before bidding, and please feel free to ask any questions. I have described this car to the best of my ability and being it 30 years old it must be Sold AS-IS. I will assist with shipping if necessary, and a $500 non-refundable deposit is due within 48hours of auction end, and the remaining balance due within 7 days unless other arrangements have been made prior to auction end. I have a clear title in my name and will also provide a bill of sale at auction end. Please do not bid if you do not intend to pay, again I am only selling this car because I need the money and cannot afford to have my time wasted. The reserve on this car is set low. If the reserve is met I will have an i-pod auxiliary adapter installed and new polk speakers installed if the winning bidder wishes. Happy Bidding and again feel free to ask any questions, thank you and good luck. On May-27-10 at 12:38:04 PDT, seller added the following information:A lot of questions and comments have been rolling in on this car. Just wanted to reiterate that this car is all original with all original equipment including the seats, and it all works. This is a rare, special ordered car. While I don't have PHS on this car yet, It wouldn't surprise me if it isn't 1 of 1. Bid!! Bid!! Bid!! You will not be disappointed with this car!!!!!On May-31-10 at 21:15:38 PDT, seller added the following information: The reserve has been lowered and is just a couple bids away from having the reserve met!!! Bid!!! Bid, on this rare original classic that can be enjoyed everyday!!!! Also wanted to clarify that all funds must clear before the car leaves my possession. Thanks and good luck to all!!!!
