1978 Honda CX500

This bike is for parts or whole and not represented in good running condition. It sat for many years before I got it. I replaced many damaged parts on it, bought a battery, changed the oil, cleaned the carbs and got it to start. It does not accelerate well, nor idle smooth. It requires front fork work (they leak and the handlebars do not line up straight) and although clean, the gas tank is dented. The motor seems strong and the cooling system works fine. The clutch still holds but will eventually need replacement. I have had this bike for about two years but have other projects requiring my attention so it is time to clear out the garage. Additional note; working on the bike today, battery did not survive the winter (my bad) but it started right up with jumper cables. (did put stablizer in the tank last year) One of the carb bowls overflowed so I shut off the gas and it ran better until dry. Could simply be the needles are leaking (although replaced) or float level not set right. A little TLC and it might be a nice running bike.
