You are bidding on an original 1966 Toronado Deluxe. This is a solid runner with a 425 Rocket V-8 engine that has recently been tuned-up. The 3 speed automatic tranny was recently serviced. The front wheel drive system has new half shafts. The vehicle also has a new battery and new white wall tires. She starts right up and runs smooth and powerful. This is the first example of an American front wheel drive car since the 1936 Cord. This is a pacesetter automobile with engineering ahead of its time. This Toronado Deluxe does not have A/C, power windows, door locks or seats. It does have the strato back front bench seat with a center armrest. The original radio is in the car and worked when I purchased the car but has since quit. The hidden headlights work just fine. The odometer shows 36K miles. I cannot confirm those to be the original miles, but the interior shows little wear for a 44 year old car. The body is solid with just a couple rust spots. There are a couple small dings at the corners. The paint is original and the roof suffers sun fade as does the hood and trunk. The glass is in good condition as is the chrome. I have many more pictures of the undercarriage that I can e-mail to an interested bidder. I purchased the car with the intent of restoring the exterior, but have since purchased a second home and need to dispose of the Toronado.
