Vehicle Detail
This is a 1970 Mercedes 280SE 3.5 Cabriolet in very good condition in a most stunning color combination. Even better than the color combination is the fact that this 3.5 will run down the interstates at the legal 75 mph limit without a rattle, pull, vibration, or unwanted noise. The car brakes straight, idles perfect, and steers precisely. The A/C blows cold, the heat hot, and the heater/defrost levers work as they should. The updated sound CD sound system is a nice modern touch and sounds wonderful. There is no rust, and the top and rear window are in very good shape. All four windows work as intended and I would call this car a superb driver if the typical sellers on E Bay had not destroyed that name trying to pass off low #3 condition cars as decent cars. So to me, with mostly #1 condition cars in my stable, this car is a low #2 that is mechanically perfect and has just enough pantina to use regularly on pretty Sundays when the weather is nice. I choose this automoible over the others to drive for its dependability, size, and ease of operation. I would trust this car on a long journey far more than my #1 condition cars that just sit around all the time. All maintenance is up to date and the fluids fresh. The car is located in Santa Fe, New Mexico at my home and can be seen there. Now here comes the ringer and why this car is priced so low. The vin tag says this convertible was originally a 3.5 coupe. I know most of you (and even purists like me) will quit reading here and I don't blame you, but what I can tell you is that after extensive research I can find NO signs that this car was cut other than that. It drives like a solid Mercedes 200 series Cabriolet should. All the parts, braces, supports, trim, chrome, rear seat, top frame, and materials on it are Mercedes and everything functions as a good 3.5 Cabriolet should. Quite simply if it wasn't for the vin no one would know this car was altered. It looks like a genuine 3.5 Cabriolet and drives exactly like one too. Please do not take my word for it and do your own research and you will see. So here is someone's chance to purchase a wonderful driving, and stunning looking, 3.5 Cabriolet for about half the cost. Huge and detailed photographs are available upon request. Please note that I am not a dealer but a car collector and have sold $100,000 plus automobiles of mine on E Bay before. I have shipped to Europe and the Orient as well as in the USA. I am happy to answer any and all questions and feel free to call me at 214 415 7373. Thank you for interest in this nice car.
