Vehicle Detail

I am reluctantly selling my beloved 1976 R90S. This isn’t your average Daytona Orange R90S, but a 1976 European-spec bike (kilometer speedometer) with a flush gas cap (the last ones off the assembly line made the change) and all the late ’76 upgrades. My R90S was delivered to a person in Germany in 1976 then later owned and maintained by a couple BMW enthusiasts before I bought it last year. It was completely gone through a couple years ago with everything being re-done on it (carbs rebuilt, new tires, battery, etc). It has less than 47,000 KILOMETERS (less than 30,000 miles) and has been very well maintained and could be ridden anywhere today. Being a BMW airhead enthusiast I continually maintain this rare piece of history and ride it too…it’s NOT a garage queen. Ride ‘em, don’t hide ‘em is my motto! This isn’t a R90S for bike shows, in my opinion people should spend more time riding then showing motorcycles! If you are looking for a “perfect” R90S that you will haul around on a trailer don’t bid on this bike! However if you are looking for a very nice ’76 D.O. R90S that you can ride & enjoy…bid on this bike. It does have some flaws (paint rub on the front left fairing from a “garage-rash” incident in the last owner’s garage and the back right fender where the BMW “suitcase” bags attach/detach. Other than that the paint is absolutely stunning and despite a little debate between a couple of my BMW buddies, it appears to be original paint (even has the pin striper’s initial underneath the seat). I can’t say for certain but the paint is B-E-A-utiful! Bike show judges (often local volunteers who don't know much about BMWs in the first place) & other “experts” will have their opinions, but I am too busy riding & enjoying my motorcycles to worry about stuff like that. The main reason I bought this R90S is because 1976 is THE best year for the R90S (they made all the engine and other significant changes in the final year of the S) and Daytona Orange is THE best paint scheme…much nicer than the black smoke (unless you like that color...if that's the case than this bike isn't for you). Plus it is a rare real German version....everyone has a normal US-market R90S Daytona Orange bike while very few have a real German BMW ;>) Here are the specs on the R90S: http://www.bmbikes.co.uk/specpages/R90S.htm I DO HAVE A SET OF DETACHABLE BMW BAGS. THEY ARE $500 EXTRA AND ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE SALE OF THE BIKE. If you want to see the bike in person it is currently at Gateway BMW in St Louis, MO until next weekend when the auction ends. READ MY 100% FEEDBACK. I am not a dealer but I’ve sold my personal BMW motorcycles, vintage cars, and even some of my airplanes on eBay with 100%. I will treat you fairly and you can be 100% certain that this motorcycle is as I represent it. Here’s what the last gentleman who bought a BMW motorcycle ('91 R100 Classic) from me said about the purchase: “You can take this seller's word right to the bank. The best.” PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING! GOOD LUCK AND GOOD BIDDING! p.s. Reason for selling, finishing up my R90/6 project with a Bender-Florin sidecar and need room in the garage. Unfortunately I can’t keep ‘em all!
