PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE DESCRIPTION BEFORE BIDDING. This 1998 Ford Contour will be sold to the highest bidder. There is NO RESERVE. Only bid if you intend to complete the transaction. This car only has 96,324 miles. The engine runs great and this vehicle has been driven every day until today, when I am listing it. It has a 5 speed manual transmission that is in great shape as well. There was a NEW clutch, pressure plate and bearing installed in this vehicle just 2,000 miles ago. The clutch is still in great shape and it shifts and drives well. It has a NEW battery in it that is only about 3 months old. All Exterior lights work well. It has new wiper blades on it. The tires still have about 50% of the tread left on them. Now for the bad things about this vehicle. It has more than its share of cosmetic damage. There are many scratches that was done by a key in both sides of this vehicle. There is a dent in the left rear quarter panel about the size of a soccor ball. There are a couple more small quarter size dents in the doors. The side mirror on the right side was torn off in a car wash and it is in the trunk. thereis some damage to the far right side of the dash around the right side vent. There is a couple burn holes caused by cigarrette burns (From the previous owner) This car has not been smoked in since I have owned it. The Battery light stays on in the car but I have had it checked and the altenator was is putting our 14.4 volts and it has a new battery in it and I have never had trouble starting this vehicle, after I replaced the battery. I have driven it at nights and there is NO problem with charging at all even when burning head lights. So there must be a malfunction in the warning light. The A/C and heater worked on this vehicle until I took it to a detail shop about two months ago. After it was cleaned inside and out the A/C will NOT blow cold and the heater will NOT blow hot. I have no idea what is wrong with them. I also have trouble opening the right side doors from the outside. Today, I was driving this car when the serpentine belt broke, upon further inspection it was found that the pulley on the belt tensioner broke and came off. The new belt cost 16.99 at the local Auto Zone. The new pulley cost 15.99. However, I am nearly 73 years old and my eye sight is getting bad and my children have been trying to get me to quit driving. So I guess now is as a good of time as any. I know this car has a few problems but it has a great engine, transmission and clutch in it and it will make great transportation for someone, with great gas mileage.
