Vehicle Detail

This is a relatively nice 81 Goldwing GL 1100. I am retired and bought it for something to do last winter and to resell. I am a retired Tool & Die maker and have many other mechanical interests and have restored a couple cars and a couple British bikes. This bike was not a restoration, just a lot of small maintenance items were done to make it reliable. My work is very professional and I take pride in the quality and integrity of my work. This bike did not need much, just a lot of things that were neglected through the years. The paint and chrome are typical of the year and could be cleaned up reasonably nice. Some rust on the chrome and paint scratches. No tears or splits on the seat. I installed new spark plugs, oil, oil filter, and other minor components. Get this: the drivers manual is also included. How many old bikes still have the manual with them? I disassembled all 4 carbs, cleaned and reassembled them and synchronized them with a Sync-Pro mercury carb synchronizer. Compression was about 155 lbs in all 4 cylinders and this is very good. This indicates the valves, rings, and pistons are in excellent condition. Timing belt is almost like new. Radiator was removed, flushed out and pressure tested. Anyone who knows Goldwings or subscribes to a Goldwing forum knows that the Goldwing engine is capable of very high millage before any major work needs to be done. As with all higher millage Goldwings, the primary chain is stretched a bit and can chatter a little at certain low RPM's. This is no cause for concern because it is a characteristic of a lot of older Goldwings. Believe me, they all stretch. It also has a new battery. Rear tire is almost new. Front is ok but for a long trip it could be replaced. The lock on the right saddle bag is broken and could be repaired by a locksmith. The lower right fairing has a crack in it where the previous owner let it fall over. Not a spill, just fell over. Moron! Brakes are good. Radio is AM/FM/ Weather/ cassette. I cleaned it up and all works great, even the cassette. I did replace the speakers with new 3 ways and they are great on the highway. Note the trunk which doubles as a back rest and can be moved forward for a driver backrest if there is no passenger. I have never seen another one like it. Windshield is clear except for minor scratches. Mirrors are good but the chrome needs some chrome polish. I don't clean um much, I just try to make them work good :) And this one is NOT from a salvage yard. Note: I can deliver by pickup truck within 300 miles of my address for $00.90 per mile one way with a minimum of $100.00. $300.00 deposit is non-refundable, and delivery fee to be paid in advance and bike to be paid for by cash upon delivery. But everything is also open to negotiation. Deposit due by Pay-Pal with in 24 hours of end of auction. This bike is also advertised elsewhere and I reserve the right to end it early if necessary.
