**** EMAIL ME FOR MUCH ENLARGED PHOTOS THAT I CAN SEND STRAIGHT TO YOUR EMAIL....the ENLARGED PHOTOS ARE QUITE NICE and SHOW THE TRUE SHINE AND CONDITION****For your consideration, up for auction is my 1955 Dodge Custom Royal Lancer WITH A TITLE. This beautiful vintage automobile is a 4-door six passenger Sedan. It has a 270 ci Super Red Ram Hemi V8 engine, full powersteering, Powerflite Automatic transmission…and…SHE CAN GET OUT OF HER OWN WAY, pronto if desired!!! This motor has tasted Chevron gas exclusively since rebuild as recommended by the builder: Quality Engineering Components. I believe the upper paint is Halo Blue with a Admiral Blue lower which was standard two-tone combination offered on the Custom Royal by Dodge in 1955; there are a few small dings and paint is chipped in very few obscure not easy to see places, I drive this car! There were approximately 55,000 made of this model for the United States and the weight is approximately 3485 lbs. It’s original selling price was $2473 and was/IS considered the luxury model 1955 Dodge Coronet in it’s day! This beautiful model sports a FACTORY INSTALLED AIR-CONDITIONER THAT WORKS EXCEPTIONALLY WELL!! Look at my last pic, that box in the trunk is the air conditioner. The A/C is fed air thru the two vents just to the left & right at the base of the rear window that deed one part fresh air to be mixed with 2 parts of air in the car. At A/C controls on high speed, the blower moves 300 cubic feet of air per minute, changing the air inside the automobile every 1.5 minutes! Of course, the heater works well as does the defroster, gauges read well and are accurate. I could go on & on about this beauty but there are interior details that need to be finished on her, I’ve started it but you will need to see it through to completion. I have a headliner, you will get that with the sale but it needs to be installed. The front carpet needs to be installed…you will need to purchase that. And the door weatherstripping will need to be refreshed. ALL do-able by yourself or a professional shop…nothing that cannot be done by any current shop should you find your self not up to the task. NOW…the unusual….I HAVE RECEIPTS FOR ALL WORK DONE dating back to 1959 and they document a well taken care of automobile. I am the 3rd owner. For instance, at about 97,000 the engine was COMPLETELY rebuilt by Quality Engineering Components of West-Linn, Oregon costing the owner $4600 (Yes, I have the documented components and work completed for that job!). It has had 6,000 miles driven on that motor since then. It easily maintains highway cruising speeds of today’s traffic…and does it so smoothly. Transmission is a delight and runs very smooth. It was painted in 2003 and the receipt says it cost the owner $2200 for that paint job! Some of the upgrades, and certainly NOT an inclusive list includes: replaced master cylinder, motor mounts, drive shaft replacement, shock absorbers, muffler (done on 2/21/09), water pump, fuel pump, NEW OLD STOCK Stromberg carb, new radiator core…and on and on! I have a pristine set of NEW OLD STOCK rear wheel-well skirts still in primer....real nice score and this will go to ONLY that buyer who uses the Buy-It-Now, sorry...no exceptions no matter how high the bidding goes...just some incentive to pull the trigger on the BIN! I also have a set of rear body FINS that cam stock on the 2-door Custom Royal Lancer....Again, to the BIN winning bid only. She is a daily driver if you want her to be…I keep her covered and out of the weather and drive her on nothing but the most beautiful of Seattle, Washington days….your arm will get tired from all the waving at you from the admiring public…and oh yes, be ready to talk her up with you stop and park her….she certainly is a conversation piece!!! Thank you and feel free to email me with any questions. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer…I will help to my utmost to see to it arrives to you in straight order. Terms are as stated elsewhere in the auction. As with all older automobiles, I cannot warrantee this vehicle and it is stated honestly. ****Though not stated in the terms, I am willing to accept FULL PAYMENT via Paypal should you choose....we will need to discus that however, at auctiuon's end**** On May-10-10 at 17:52:02 PDT, seller added the following information: ADDENDUM: ......ANYBODY wishing to see MUCH BETTER pics of this vehicle, please send me your email address, send themn to me at: jfranco@ureach.com...these pics will knock your socks off! I'll try to get some engine pics as well as trunk and complete dash/instrument panel pics also..... GiantOn May-11-10 at 19:59:03 PDT, seller added the following information: ADDENDUM #2: I have sent pics of the motor, door interiors and the dash to all who have requested them...if I missed anybody, please send me your email addy' and what pics you'd like to have. Send those email addys' to me at: jfranco@ureach.com.On May-12-10 at 08:24:09 PDT, seller added the following information: CLARIFICATION: I'm trying to contact the engine builder in Oregon. I'm suspecting this automobile has the Red Ram motor, not the SUPER Red Ram. I do know it has a single barrel Stromberg carb, BRAND NEW, NOS upon rebuild. But in looking at the documentation of the engine rebuild, it does not specify which motor...Super Red Ram vs. Red Ram in this fine auctomoble and the title and registrations do not specify either! I do know she is a Hemi V8, single exhaust with a 9:1 compression ratio and the engine builder wrote the following letter attached to the build components list and invoice: "The final invoice follows this note. Again, thank you for the opportunity to provide the engine rebuilding services for your project. I am sure that you will get many years of trouble free service with your new engine. It is, essentially, better then when it left the factory." The remaining parts of the builder's letter goes on to provide instructions for maintenance regarding oil changes, type of oil to use, when to change oil, etc. I have also been asked to clarify if it truely is power steering. The manuals say yes, I have driven this automobile and feel it's steering is quite easy at some speeds, only in tight spots of turning at drive off speeds does she feel like an effort but I attribute that to her size and less engineered ways being a 1955 vintage vehicle. Literature on this subject documents, "Even with the 18" diameter steering wheel there is noticeable effort involved in pointing the Dodge in the desired direction of travel at low speeds. Power steering uses a 16:1 ratio and is truely a small step away from being effortless (at very low speeds)." However, at all in town, backroad and highway speeds, steering is delightful to say the least. On May-15-10 at 00:23:47 PDT, seller added the following information: ****RESERVE PRICE**** The Reserve Price has almost been obtained. I will say this, RESERVE IS LESS THAN $4000! That's really one heck of a deal folks. I am very motivated to sell this fine automobile due to recent unforseen health issues for my wife. Insurance only helps so much and then I must kick in the rest. You will not regret winning this '55 Dodge....it is street ready, has been for some time and she really is a delight to drive on those warm summers, hit the A/C or roll down the windows....either way...you WILL love her! Thanks all! GiantOn May-15-10 at 22:18:06 PDT, seller added the following information: ****OK...LAST ADDENDUM before auction ends**** First, If this fine automobile does not sell, I will finish the interior restoration, make a You Tube video of the vehicle RUNNING and post that video on my next auction go around, possibly by June or July. However, I want to correct something I claimed in my auction description...NO, it does NOT have power steering..it feels like it does, thus my confusion but many have pointed out...the lack of a power steering box in my engine pics that I emailed so many. I'm sorry, that was my ignorance. I do want to be clear....ALL lights work..and work well, A/C works very well, she has VERY, very low mileage...6000 miles since rebuild and she burns no oil and drives like a dream. The radio is original and AM only (sorry, FM was not available as far as I know in '55!)....it is a tube type. And today it cut out on me...my solution, should the auction leave her in my hands for finishing...a modern upgrade, w/Ipod capability and four Pioneer speakers...just like in my old ford truck! Sacreligious? Maybe, but I will include the current radion in any sale. There you have it....my apologies for any misunderstanding. If anyone still wants or needs pics to decide on whether to pull the trigger...email me (jfranco@ureach.com)...I do have trunk pics now for those who have asked...get back in touch with me and I'll forward them to you..AGAIN, ABSOLUTELY NO RUST ANYWHERE and that means VERY SOLID ORIGINAL FLOORING AND TRUNK!!!! I can get pics of that also. IF I END UP FINISHING THE RESTORATION...expect my minimum acceptance price of around $7000 to $9000! So here's the Bargain... YOU can save yourself some cash and buy her for WAY under $4000!!! Time IS money...something I'm not blessed with a lot of...so I'd really like to sell her before I go ahead and put more of it into this beauty! Thanks...good luck to those still interested...I will make the transaction SUPER easy, and I will drive her a reasonable distance to you, if you pay gas!!!! Enjoy! "Giant"
