Unique bidding opportunity! Purchased this convertible Scout II with full front custom rollcage properly welded to the frame, for my daughters 16th birthday, she loved it, voted " coolest car" in school when she graduated. Now, she's been off to college I built her a lifted custom Jeep wrangler more suited for highway driving. This Scout is nicely lifted with shackles and partial body lift with 33 in. Wild Trac tires on 15 x 10 Mickey Thompson pacer wheels-all 5. Tires are in good shape (left rear tread is noisy compared to the others-maybe swap on spare). Ride is a bit squirrely Found out recently the best way is to do a SOA (spring over axle) conversion and remove the shackles--its free i think. Daughter drove it every day to school!!! Engine is the original 345 and runs strong, with no smoke or anything like that, put a new holly carb on it-so choke button is no longer needed. Trans is the proper chrysler 727 and couldn't be smoother. No leaks on either (noticed if it sits the trans can drip very little-just mentioning). Axles I was told were Dana 44 and a GM 10 bolt thru a Dana 300 transfer case, she only used the 4 x 4 a few times a while ago, but all worked. Exhaust has a real nice mean rumble - flowmasters welded to big chrome sneaker pipes out the side in front of the back tire. Paint is "corvette yellow" by previous owner is nice, not show quality, but quite respectable(nicest around though), and is very thorough doing the dash and jambs only found one little spot on the firewall of original color, that "swimming pool blue". Afraid some rust bubbles are coming out in back of the front tires and in front of the rear tires by the four corners of the door- see pic of the chrome exhaust tip, tried to show it,another spot in middle of tailgate, but hidden behind the spare tire mounted on that rare swing out carrier with a 5 gallon gerry gas/water can. No dents down the sides, but see pics of dings up behind front bumper. I believe most, if not all of the electronics work- lights high beam button- turn signals-heater-guages etc.(speedometer is not right/tires are larger. Horn actually plays animals, settings for bull, sheep, horse. etc. and if thats not silly enough, plays a bunch of songs continuously including "la-cu-ca-ra-cha" hooked up to a microphone loudspeaker. Interior- dashpad is perfect, no cracks, has a very nice ALPINE CD player with detatchable face w/case and MP3 iPOD capability, better speakers should be mounted in the back - 5in. round ones just sitting in there now. Custom yellow/black FX seat covers, if you don't like them they come right off and the original buckets seats were just recovered in mint condition, sheet metal floors in front of both seats are nicely done and has full diamond plate rear bed-some of the rust cut out underneath. Thee coolest top fully covers cockpit, no rips/tears, can go "SAFARI STYLE" all straps and snaps there/work . Its a Bestop! Also new clear windshield and updated wipers from "SUPER SCOUT SPECIALIST" check them out - have anything you'll need. All in all the coolest, rarest monster around. She's not a $24K show car (yet) so please don't expect one Been a tinker toy for me and now its your turn, its never let me down starts every time, even after sitting for two months-put jumper cables on,pumped the gas 2-3 times fires right up. Please ask any questions i will answer, wish to keep my e-bay rating perfect. Just sold a 1934 Cadillac on here last month and it inspired to blow the dust of this and sell her. I am serious and will sell for thousands less than its worth. Please be serious also, i may be able to assist with shipping if necessary. Thanks, and good luck! J.
