Having recently retired after 35-years in EMS, I am ready to fully retire this 1979 Ford E250 van conversion by Modular Ambulance Mfg and it's ready for the parade ground or static display to show the "then and now" of the EMS world. The vehicle IS NOT and CANNOT be used as a transport vehicle, although it is fully restored inside and out. The vehicle was sold under the trade name of "Vanbulance" in the mid-1970's to the state of Oklahoma, where it was donated to a small ambulance service in northwestern Oklahoma until its retirement from service sometime in the early 1990's. It then sat in the hot sun of western Oklahoma until 2007 when it was trucked to my home and the restoration began. It has a 351 gasoline engine, with automatic transmission and still runs fantastically, and only 58,874 original miles. It was repainted to original specifications in 2008, along with new interior floor coverings. Unit comes complete with a one-man Ferno ambulance cot and plenty of period medical equipment, including (non-functioning) medical radios, to help make this a fine display vehicle. I also installed an after-market CD player and a working 8-track player with 3 tapes (some songs work). We are located in Oklahoma near major transportation routes and transportation costs may be worked out for an additional fee. Vehicle is tagged and road-ready.
