Shipping your vehicle Please note that, due to California State regulations, cars must be professionally transported out of state to avoid paying California sales tax. (8.75% as of April 2009) If you do this and are resident in another US state you will not normally be charged sales tax again when you register the vehicle, but please check with your local DMV if you are not sure. If shipping the vehicle out of California we will need to hold a check on file for the California sales tax until the vehicle has been delivered and we have received back a notarized delivery form that we will provide. This check will then be cancelled and returned to you.
