Up for auction is a 2001 Ford Crown Victoria P71. Car is a former marked Massachusetts State Cruiser which I purchased after its retirement in March of 2007. I have included pictures to help give you an idea of the cars overall condition. Please contact me with any specific questions, or if you require additional pictures. Please see the updated description at the botton of this listing The title is clear with only one accident on the car fax (When the state owned it). Car drives very well. The engine and transmission are both strong. However the rear end needs work. There is a heavy banging when the steering wheel is turned to the right. My mechanic checked the rear end and found metal shavings in the differential. I commute almost 600 miles a week from NH to Boston and need a more reliable car. The Good: The wiper motor, battery, brakes and tie rods have all been done/repaired/replaced within the past 2 years. There are no rust holes, major dents, broken glass or other major issues. All 4 tires have tread on them (The spare is not as good - see pic), It has had regular oil changes with the exception of the most recent due, which was not done. The car goes when you hit the gas with no hesitations or slippage of the transmission. There is no knocking in the engine, no stalling or sputtering. The heat blows hot and high and the car does not overheat. All of the lights work and there are no cracked lenses. The Bad: The trunk leaks (most likely through the plugs in the trunk lid), the banging in the rear end (as noted above), the paint is starting to chip thanks to the less-than-thorough body shop that painted in before I purchased it. There are minor dings throughout, the front bumper has been hit several times while I have been parked at various locations however the bumper is on tight with just scuffs present. There is no A/C (the compressor seized, so there is now a bypass pulley on it). There is one burn hole in the drivers seat from the previous owner (see pic) and there is also a tear in the rear, drivers seat from my daughters carseat (see pic). There are several holes in the face of the dashboard from the mic holders when it was a cruiser. Both front doors do not unlock using the switch (locking rods came off lock?) The key does not work in the trunk lock (no idea why, it was like that when I purchased it), but it will open using the release buttons inside the car. The car does have a keyless entry / remote start system, but the remote start stopped working last year and I never bothered looking into fixing it. One key fob will come with the car. If I can find the second I will certainly include it. The lights for the cluster also dont work (This is recent as I first noticed it when bringing it home from the mechanics). All the lights, cage and push bar were removed by me after I purchased it. There is no emergengy lighting or audible devices present on vehicle. The factory CD player (works fine) and center console (which is not attached to the tranny hump) are included. It has 4 after market wheel covers (The factory covers never stayed on). The contents of the truck shown in one of the pictures are not included. Now the Technical Stuff This car is sold as is with no warranties implied or included. The sale of this car is final. Updated description: I drove the car around today and the banging is worse. The car wobbles unless the wheel is held perfectly straight, so I dont feel omfortable driving it.
