Vehicle Detail

The good: This truck starts pretty well, runs smoothly, uses no oil or other fluids, except for gas. No it doesn't smoke, there is no oily or black film in the exhaust. We use it almost every day to do chores here on the farm, and a couple times a month to haul 1000 pounds of feed from town, or trash to the dump. Down the highway at 55 it drives straight and true. Someone has installed air horns on it, which do work, added a FM radio which kinda works, and it appears that someone installed a/c but it doesn't work, or I haven't figured out how to turn it on. The side windows do roll up and down, doors open okay, seat belts work. There doesn't appear to be much rust on it, the bed seem solid, no fenders flap around and there doesn't appear to be any real damage so it might be a candidate for restoring. All the guages work. By VIN the engine would be a V8 - 302cid - 2BBL carb. Folks, I wouldn't know a 302 if it whacked me in the head... but it is a V8. This is the "three on the tree", manual on the column. Mechanically, this truck has not given us any problems. I got this from a friend who has been driving it for 10 miles each day to work for the last 5 years. The odometer shows 25257, the title was issued in 2005 and showed 102,905 and the title shows "Actual Milage". From this information I would conclude the miles are actualy 125,257. The only reason we are selling it is because during the Spring and Fall, it gets wet here in S. Carolina and we have pastures where this 2 wheel drive can't go when it's nasty and we need to get there. The bad: This truck is 37 years old and looks like it. There is a dent in the right front fender, the paint is faded and chipped, the seats are worn with material frayed and missing, the headliner is missing except for a little insulation. The dash has cracks. There is a little grinding if one tries to shift quickly. There is a little shimmy at about 35 mph, but by 45 it is smooth. Let me say it again, this is an old truck that runs and drives well but it is 37 years old and has not been restored.
