These limited edition Beetles are now being searched out by collectors and I think that over time they will truly be highly prized and the values will increase due to their special equipment. The Good: Nice, running, stopping original Sunbug ready for enjoying or restoration.Heat and defrost are strong and work perfectly Brand new tires with less than 500 miles on them Very dry VW - Purchased in Texas vehicle then brought to California Original wheels and spare Original engine and transmission All lights and electrical work well Solid heater channels and pans – car has never been welded Painted German Metallic Gold Original running boards Good working Sunroof Windshield seal and right quarter window seal are new Complete carpet, seats and panels Original steering wheel that has been stored away for 30 years Recent complete inspection, tune-up and brake job Body of the car appears to have never been taken apart. Rear bumper rubber strip not installed but included Original owner’s manual included Up to date CA registration and insurance Third owner (second owner purchased the car in 1978) All records and maintenance receipts from 1978 Very rare limited edition VW Sunbug Title is ready for transfer The Bad: Rust on rear left side by fresh air vent Some surface rust and small dinks on the vehicle Dented rear apron (an original German replacement apron is included) Not the original engine lid Salvage title – vehicle rolled into a parked car Not original radio – speakers have been placed in door panels as well Headliner is original with some imperfections Odometer stopped working at 50,000 miles – car is believed to have approximately 120,000 miles on it. Passenger door is a bit sticky but opens and closes just fine Crack in dash (previous owner put a fitted plastic cover over the original dash) Not the original shifter knob Driver side view mirror mounting hole was filled in with bondo – an aftermarket mirror is currently installed Not original door handles – different keys for ignition and doorsSlow oil leak believed to be from the main engine seal Spare tire needs replacement Light lenses have stress cracks and fading Rear ashtrays need replacement Fuel stains on paint under fuel filler tube Not original paint Overall, this is a great VW Sun Bug to drive or restore.Please see my other auctions for more VW Parts and Accessories.
