PLEASE- Only bid if you are going to follow through. Please dont waste my time. Read and understand the terms at the bottom. If you have low or negative feedback, please email me prior to bidding or I will cancell your bid. I dont want to relist this car a third time. Now... Up for auction is my 1972 Buick LeSabre Custom 4 door hardtop. It’s a 350 2 barrel with a Turbo 350 transmission. Car was bought new from P.J. Grady Buick Chevrolet in West Sayville, NY. The original owner kept it till 2009 when she turned 95. The car currently has 74,823 miles on the odometer. The car code 19, Regal Black. A very rare color for a LeSabre. How rare? Out of the 50,804 LeSabre Custom 4 door hardtops, only 296 were painted black. Ive never seen another. And with only 296 made in 72, how manyt others are left? Options include- Air conditioning, disc brakes, chrome road wheels, and AM radio. I will try and explain the condition as best I can Engine and driveline- The car has a 350 with a 2 barrel carb. Trans is a Turbo Hydramatic 350. The car runs well and starts right up. Doesn’t smoke on startup. It doesn’t leak a drop of oil. Transmission shifts well. Choke works. Runs like a top. Brakes are in good shape. Brake pads and shoes have plenty of material left. Car stops well. The car has the Buick chrome rally wheels on it. The tires are Michelin 235/70-15’s. The tires aren’t the greatest. I have a spare set of 235/75-15’s, the original wheels and hubcaps that go with the car. One picture posted shows the car wsith its original hubcaps. Two of the tires on the spare set are brand new as is the spare in the trunk. The car has a new radiator, water pump, battery, alternator, regulator and master cylinder. The car has been recently tuned up and has new ignition wires, cap, rotor and plugs. The oil and filter were just changed less than 200 miles ago. Front end, suspension and steering components are all tight. Car was recently aligned as well. The fuel gauge does not work. I diagnosed it to a bad sender in the tank. I did some research and senders are readily available on Ebay for 89.95. Body- Naturally, since this was owned by an elderly woman, the right front fender is dented. At 95 years old, she started having problems pulling the big Buck into the garage. The passenger doors were scuffed in the process. The passenger door is also missing its body side molding. I have the body side molding for the fender. The paint is lacquer. Overall, the paint is probably about 70% original. The car has various shopping cart and door dings, nicks, chips and scratches all over it. It’s far from perfect but still very presentable. Looks very nice from 10 feet and 10 mph. The car has the typical rust starting in the lower portions of the quarters. The rear window leaks as they all do. Unfortunately, over the years, the water leaked in the trunk and did some damage to the trunk floor. I peeled the mat back and took some pictures. It’s not bad, but it is very scaley. There are a few holes starting. The floors are perfect and look like the day they were made. With a little restoration work, this car would be stunning. Interior- The interior is in very nice shape aside from the ripped front seat. Door panels are in very good shape as is the headliner. Carpets are clean with no rips. Dash and instrument cluster are again in nice shape. With a repair to the front seat, the interior would look 100% better. Please examine the pictures carefully. If you have any questions that I did not answer, please email me prior to bidding. Buying a car sight unseen is never recommended. I would encourage anyone within driving distance to come and look at the car in person before the end of the auction. That way there are no surprises. Although the car does not have any mechanical issues, its still an old car and I would recommend trailering it long distances. There is NO title for this car. NY state does not issue titles on cars older than 1973. This car has a transferable registration. The registration is the title. Please research this and verify it to your own satisfaction PRIOR to picking up the car so you don’t think Im trying to scam you. To anyone bidding from overseas- The car is NOT currently registered. In order to ship overseas, the car has to be registered and insured which it is not. A $200 non refundable deposit via Paypal is required within 24 hours. The balance to be paid in cash upon pickup. I require the car to be picked up within 10 days unless other arrangements can be agreed upon prior to the close of the auction. The car is located on the south shore of Long Island about 45 miles east of New York City. Thanks and good luck.
