This is possibly the oldest known civilian Chevrolet 3600 with a dealer installed NAPCO 4WD kit. Number 27 Built. There is not a lower serial number known to my knowledge (and I have had 3 of these early Series NAPCO trucks. Correct Drivers side pumpkin, Rockwell transfer case. Serial Number A1027 The truck runs and drives great. The motor and transfer case were rebuilt 10 years ago and it has been stored since. It fires right up, idles smooth, no smoke and good solid oil pressure. Still 6 volt. 235 inline 6 with SM420 4 speed. The cab was seriously rusted and 15 years ago The then owner replaced it with a 54 GMC cab from a firetruck. The cab is PERFECT. The truck to this day is 100% rust free, not even a blister. There is a title issue because of the cab swap. I actually have original Oregon titles for both trucks. The 54 GMC was titled to the engine number so it does not match the chevy engine anyway. The original 54 title is titled to the correct number for the truck and I have a restoration Data plate that matches that number. The cab has all working gauges and lights work. Deluxe cab heater. It has a split COE seat in it. Floors are perfect. It has 4 19.5 solid wheels on it. And Warn Hubs, working. Tires are old and cracked, but hold air and I drive on them. Glass is all good except drivers door.
