For auction a beautifully restored 1966 Morris Mini Cooper Tribute,originally from New Zealand i bought the car and stripped it pretty well down to the shell.The Mini was pretty much rust free except for one patch we had to put in on the rt front floor that was about one inch by 2 inches,the car has the original floor pans and sills,the front end was rebuilt new bearings tie rod ends and ball joints along with brakes etc,i installed a genuine cooper head off a 68 Mini cooper that was totally rebuilt including guides,new carbs from burlen etc,i have the corresponding numbers engine and transmission from the 68 cooper also but it would have to be shipped separately at the buyers expense of course.The interior is completely new directly from the U.K. and looks fantastic,the wheels are genuine cooper wheels on new Yokohama tires and the dash binnacle is a rare speedwell item with tach and 130 mph speedo,the speedo is not working at the moment and i haven't checked it but its probably the cable as the speedo is new,this Mini is on hydrolastic and it drive wonderfully,The undercoating you see on the underside is ziebart which was done when the car was new and its very solid and clean underneath it.The paint is high end basf uno urethane done in tartan red with a black roof and old english white wheels the classic Hopkirk look,the rear blind is an original accessory which works great,the car was originally rt hand drive which we converted to left hand drive,as you can see there has been much money and time lavished on this Mini and it shows,it will make the new owner a wonderful example.i have put a reasonable reserve on the car so good luck bidding and the car is sold as is where is no warranty implied and given thank you. On Aug-06-18 at 11:04:41 PDT, seller added the following information: I forgot to mention in the original listing that the heater motor doesn’t work,I haven’t checked what the issue is because I don’t need it as the car isn’t driven in damp or cold conditions,but if I were guessing I would say it needs a motor,also the lock on the choke does not lock and I just want to make clear that this is tribute Cooper it’s not a real cooper but it’s as close as you will get without spending the big money that real coopers in this condition now command thank you.
