Vehicle Detail
This is a 2000 Mercury Water Mouse (not a Disney rental) with a 25 hp 1997 Mercury outboard and a 2000 Bear trailer. The original owner bought the boat new in 2000 from a dealership. After a few years, he switched out the 2000 15 hp motor for the 1997 25 hp motor that is on there now. He said he did this so it would plane better and go faster. He sold the boat because his children were grown and it had not been used in years. We bought it in May of this year. We cleaned it up, painted the plastic seat (it was sun faded), changed the lower unit oil, and put on new decals. We took it to the lake to make sure everything worked okay. It is a fun little toy and a huge attention getter. This is a pull start motor. If you want to go through the trouble, it can be easily converted to a battery-start. The boat does come with its original battery box. As far as condition, it is not perfect, but it is very nice. We have made a thorough video of the boat to help you gauge its condition, including us running it on the lake this month (late July). In the video, we do our best to point out any flaws. Ebay does not allow sellers to post a video link, so you can either send us an email and we will send you the youtube link to the video, or you can go to youtube and search for "mercury water mouse kechi kansas". Make sure to put quotes around the search term or you will not find it. We are aware of the collectible nature of the Mercury Water Mouse, so We bought this boat with the intention of re-selling it. We have not registered it but will do so if your state requires it for transfer of ownership. Technically, whoever wins this auction will be the 2nd owner of the boat. Kansas does not issue boat titles (ownership is determined by a bill of sale and subsequent registration). Because of this, the original owner never "titled" the boat, he only registered it. We do have the manufacturers statement of origin (MSO) document which was issued to the original owner as well as the title for the engine (again, not titled to us and not required in KS). If your state requires boat titles, please find out what documentation you need in order to get the boat titled in your state. The MSO and a bill of sale may be all you need. These boats were originally created as rentals for Disney World to replace their aging Water Sprites. Because of this, they were designed for heavy use. Mercury received enough interest from the general public that they began selling them through dealerships. The boat is 10.5 feet long, has a 4.5 foot beam, and a draft of 1.6 feet. Displacement is 360 lbs and total weight (engine, fuel, passengers) is 480 lbs. Transom deadrise is 18 degrees, bridge clearance is 2.6 feet, and the fuel capacity is 8 gallons. The boat has a polyethylene hull and ABS plastic deck. It is self-bailing, but does also come with a plug. The rating is for a 15 hp motor with a top speed of 24 mph. So, keep in mind that although it is not uncommon to see these with 25+ hp motors, the rating is 15 hp. If you are interested in viewing the boat, it can be seen in Wichita, KS. If you have any questions and prefer to discuss them by phone, send us your phone number and we will gladly call you back. We realize that many of these get bought, sold, and shipped across the USA, so We are happy to work with your shipper. We want you to be happy with your purchase and will do what we can to accommodate you.
